Big Eddie, Olbermann, Oprah - etc should watch it.

By publicly endorsing a candidate ~ or by trashing certain candidates ~ they are going to lose in the end.

All they are doing is pissing off the supporters of certain candidates, and in turn may lose viewership.

1. Ed Schultz hatred of Clinton is too much.
I don't listen to him anymore. He should go back to his local gig in ND.

He's half-baked.

I'm glad I don't have to listen to his shit on the ride home.

he'll be nice as pie for at least a couple of months from then on.

4. As far as I know, Oprah is the only one of those three to endorse anyone.
I haven't heard Olbermann favoring any one candidate, and Schultz doesn't like the tactics of the Clintons, but he hasn't said anything favoring a particular candidate either.

5. I watch KO all the time
who has he "endorsed"?

And by reporting on stories about candidates and their actions/stmts is not trashing them.

KO is a journalist, and a damn good one.

I'd be very surprised that he has endorsed any candidate.

17. Really... and here I thought he was reporting on things.
trashing the Clintons? Maybe they "trashed" themselves and he reported on it.

Trashing "my guy" too. Oh, the shame of it all! :sarcasm:

I've seen his reports on the "he said / she said" and Big Dog and everything else. I haven't seen this "trashing" that you speak of. He did have John Edwards on for an interview recently, and John made some very valid points about the recent "squabbling" in the race for the nomination... and I was happy to hear what John had to say.

But I don't detect any "anti-Clinton" bias or "anti-Obama" bias. Not like, say, Tweety on Hardball, who really doesn't like Hillary and trashes her any chance he gets... now THERE is some "trashing".

But KO? No, you are off base there.

25. I had seen him as very pro Clinton a month ago
It's hard to cover Bill Clinton's behavior from the day of the NH primary to the day of the NV caucus without sounding negative. You don't have prominent party members suggesting that either Edwards or Obama or HRC should behave themselves. If this is a Clinton team plan, it is disgusting. If not, I feel sorry for HRC that her spouse is embarrassing her again.

I've seen people say he's pro-Clinton, but I haven't seen that for myself.

I think some supporters are just seeing boogeymen everywhere.

But, he has such a Clinton hatred that it is difficult to get the facts of the story straight. After seeing him on Hardball last night, I will no longer listen to him.

13.  I agree. I like him, but I got tired of knowing more than he did all the
time. Also couldn't abide the way he pitched his voice so high so often.

He really liked Wes Clark, as I remember, but I assume Wes hasn't been on his show since Wes endorsed HRC?

like he was trying to be a left of center Rush.  Didn't see him as being particularly progressive, well informed, or enlightening and we already have one too many Rushes.

Anyone who doesn't support BILLary will be called names & threatened. Obviously, Oprah is a very smart woman and knew the risks when she endorsed Obama. What the hell does a billionairess care about a few pissed off viewers?

24. I agree and Rachel has fallen into KO's trap at times.
I think she was originally a DK supporter.

KO has been bothering me for a couple of weeks. I didn't say anything until two friends brought it up the night - they asked me why he is so angry at Hillary and to a lesser degree Obama.

The sad part is that KO has become more of a news maker and less of a reporter - we should be talking about "what" he reports not "how" he reports. .

28. thank you Durham!
I was beginning to feel like I was crazy while reading everyone elses responses here.

I have actually been enjoying Dan Abrams more these days. He has a pretty good show, and seems to stay above the gossip.
KO just seems really pissed off lately - and alot of that anger seems to be directed at the Clintons.

I am not a Clinton supporter. I am actually undecided, so maybe that is why I am more sensitive to this stuff.

Only Oprah has endorsed anyone, and I don't think she has too much to worry about, and Olberman and Schultz are unlikely to lose any viewers or listeners over this- much as you may wish for it to happen.

candidate. I haven't seen him favor any candidate either and I watch him nightly. He does report on what is going on and sometimes snarks on them. That is what he does. Also he does have candidates on that are willing to come on and that NBC News will let him have instead of Brian Williams doing the interview. I don't listen to Schultz so can't comment there. Oprah did endorse Obama for her own reasons and was upfront about it. What it will cost her I don't know but she does have that right. She also is an entertainment host not a journalist or pundit.

He very accurately covers distortions and comes up with facts.

If you stop viewing because KO is doing a great job doing what a journalist is supposed to do, well ...

30. I know plenty of people, including myself, that will never watch Oprah again.
The first time she endorses any candidate publicly just happens to be when it is a viable African American candidate? Smells funny. I don't want to hear someone endorse him just because he is black. She would never come out and say it, but that is what it was. That was when we turned away from Obama too.

33. I have heard that she got a lot of negative responses from her
endorsement of him. Oprah's team said it was from many women who were angry about her not endorsing the first woman with a shot at the White House. But it does make some people wonder. As for your insult....I will pray that you can refrain from name calling upon those with a different opinion than you may have. You have a blessed evening. Peace.

Oprah could give two hoots whether or not you're pissed at her. I'll ask the Hillary supporters if we should all be upset with Barbara Streisand because she endorsed Hillary? I maintain, it's idiotic.
