This is NOT a particularly ugly primary season
Can we please stop getting the vapors every time an elbow is thrown?

It's politics! It's supposed to be rough.

2. But I keep getting told the party is being destroyed.
Though, come to think of it, I'm told that only by people who aren't getting what they want.

3. It's not rough, it's a bloodsport...we need to remember that after
all the dirt is thrown, John and Hilary and Barak will kiss up and make nice. They don't take it personally, so why should we?

13. That was bad, but I don't like the result of that as a historical precedent.

15. Me neither.
The ugliness factor on the Democratic side was substantial, though.

11. Compared to Dean-Kerry? Is there a particularly ugly primary season
that you have in mind as a basis of comparison?

It certainly seems that race and gender are components of this primary to a greater degree than in the past, regardless of which candidate or media you blame for that. Most of our past primaries involved white males as the "leading" contenders. Now we have women turning out and voting for Hillary in large numbers and AA turning out and voting for Obama in large numbers. Two minority groups see their best chance ever at getting a president elected. It is quite natural that people are rally engaged and voting, at least in our primaries, in unprecedented numbers.
