Hillary Clinton/Harold Ford
If Hilly's in trouble with AA voters, or thinks she is, this pick is a lot more likely than Obama. Ford may be a real weasel, but he's got several terms in the House under his belt and he's African American. He's also telegenic, an attack dog and fairly articulate. Never mind that he's a real weasel.

1. hmmm don't know much about him
All I know is he is kind of slick on tv, but would he be a good pick? He is kind of obscure for most Americans probably.

2. You know Cali, really. I used to enjoy reading your posts when you were objective.
Now, I'm sorry to say I don't enjoy your posts anymore. I can't wait till the primaries are over when you put your objectivity back on. I just hope you can find it.

4. I think her objectivity is gone forever.
Cults do that to people.

8. xultar, I've never been a big Clinton fan
but the behavior of her campaign has been more than disappointing to me. And now this business of trying to screw with FL and MI, and tell Dean to go screw himself. It's just appalling to me.

I like Artur Davis, but he's new and unknown.

5. Many Democrats think just the opposite of Ford as what most DU'ers think of him
Anything I hear about him here on this site I take with a grain of salt.

18. That, in itself, supports Cali's contention.
We know him to be a DLC right-center politician. Perfectly in line with Hillary. Most outside the web world don't even know what DLC is. They would so no reason not to support him.

11. I think Hillary would pick Obama before Harold Ford.

... and I think this is just flamebait and not what you think either.

20. Why would she choose someone she's been going at hammer and tongs
over someone who is a co-DLCer and who agrees with her on most all the issues?

Do you really think that after the last couple weeks either Hillary or Obama is going to genuinely trust the other again?

23. No, I don't think they like each other. But if Hillary looked at the internals and saw that
she needed Obama to win, he would be the veep.
Harold Ford is far to the right of both Clinton and Obama.

That would be a very obvious pander that I think would offend people.

14. Ford a better choice than Obama for VP
Ford wont make the voters regret voting for Hillary in the primaries when he makes a speech.

Obama's speeches would make the voters realize what they missed out on by voting for the wrong candidate.

15. He's not married
which opens him up for all kinds of speculation, which the repubs would never hesitate to spotlight. It stinks, but there it is and that's the kind of thing the worms look for.

17. I think he just got married
The biggest thing that the Repubs will use against is that he lied about being a lawyer. He never passed the bar but said he was a lawyer. This was revealed during his Senate campaign. This is when his poll numbers started dropping.

19. Yeah, give the VP slot to the guy who lost his only statewide race.
Actually, given the Clintons' tin ear as of late, it wouldn't surprise me at all to see them do this.
