American and most standing behind Obama were white?

That felt weird when I noticed that, and I'm not sure it is a very good thing.

Race is obviously a topic that is sensitive, but I could see the "race calculations" sticking out like a sore thumb for both the Clinton and Obama camps.

I know the politicos were saying that the "race card" was being played in the campaigns and I thought they were full of shit. But after noticing that last night I'm not so sure.

1. Race ain't going away from US politics...
for a long time.

Most of the time it's played negatively, but this time I see it more positively. Instead of trying to instill fear of "those" people getting power, it's showing unity across racial lines-- Hillary and black folks is OK, Obama and white folks is OK.

As bad as things have been, that strikes me as heading in the right direction.

3. Thanks for your perspective---I hadn't thought of it that way but I do think you're right.

2. I didn't think that was entirely true.
It seemed like one white family of 5-6 behind him and at least 5 Blacks in the same shot.

Obama also won half of White voters under 30 and did ok in the other White age groups.
