Question about the DLC and this presidential race
Is the DLC still the powerhouse it once was? Wasn't Kerry DLC? And Kennedy?

So is it odd that they are both supporting Obama or is the DLC not the tight knit group I thought it was?

1. The DLC is split between old NE Democrats & the Clintons
From what I understand the Clintons tried to block Dean from becoming the head of the DNC, and even tried getting him ousted last year.

Seems to be bad blood, with the Clintons in the minority and the rest gradually lining up behind Obama in the primaries.

2. I am fairly certain Kennedy is not DLC -- Since it was formed as a reaction against...
...Kennedy's brand of traditional liberalism.

I may be wrong, but it would be very surprising.

3. I get the feeling even they know this is bad. Howard Dean built this party and to see it torn apart
for the vanity of one candidate, Hillary, will have implications for years.

There would be a movement to start a 3rd party. The netroots would choose and support their own candidates and the eventually the Democrats would be out.

Has never been half what its press releases claim, or one tenth what its detractors denounce....

7. Thanks -
I love it when an adult enters the conversation. However, you do take all of the fun out of the outrage and nonsense.

5. Wow. Just WOW
No Kennedy was never DLC. Kerry disconnected from them years ago, if he was ever really a part of them. Obama specifically had his name removed from any DLC or New Dem web site or literature.

Hillary is currently one of their team leaders, or whatever they call their directorship. Bill spoke at their national convention last year.

I am so disgusted.

8. The gauntlet was thrown to the DLC with the challenge to Lieberman
in 06. They LOST within the party, with the
dem rank and file ousting the old bastard in
favor of Lamont....

BUT, the DLC is SO powerful, and the money that
is behind it is the SAME money that powers the
NEO-CONS, so he was able to keep his position,
with the help of the pukes and the DLC enablers
in Washington.

They HAVE been served, however.

There IS a battle going on.

Most Hillary supporters don't know, I don't blame
them. I would be more apt to support Hillary myself
if she repudiated the "New Dems" or the DLC.

Google Bruce Reed, Al From or Will Marshall if you
want to find out about our "friends" at the DLC.

Kerry and Kennedy are NOT DLC.

13. Read for yourself
The DLC's "Ideas Primary" web site. It's actually very fair to all three major Democratic candidates.

14. Kennedy's never been DLC.
He's too far to the left for them.
