There goes "hope" that he will go broke. He had over $20 million on hand at the beginning of the year and the money continues to roll in.

I presume this number is for campaign overhead and does not include ads. Edwards' Super Tuesday ad buy is expected to be three-quarters the size of the celebrity candidate's buys. Not bad for someone allegedly low on funds.

-snip-

Money is still not a problem, his aides insisted. Though Mr. Edwards has raised significantly less than Mrs. Clinton or Mr. Obama has raised, his campaign has been on a budget of $1.2 million a month and has enough to go through the primaries. He has raised more than $3 million this month, in part because of liberal bloggers, who recently organized a one-day fund-raiser that brought in more than $300,000

1. The Edwards campaign is being very effective with their money.
Putting it where it needs to go, and running effective advertisements in key places.

I'm not worried about John running out of money.

He's got the support of a lot of online support, like some of us on DU, who give when ever we can and pour money into his campaign to keep him in the race and in the debate.

4. I'm not, he's got money to compete.
From people like me, who want him to stay in the race and push our voices into the debate in this 'two person' "He/she started it" mess that we call the primaries.

2. Then he won't be making a lot of national ad buys for next week.
A million plus a month may pay salaries and travel, it does not buy ads.

He is on a budget that allows him to stay in, not one that will advance his position.

5. He just had a record 25 day fundraising period. The campaigns using that money to buy ad's.
In ten states for Super Tuesday.

Just because he doesn't have $100 million like Obama and Clinton, he can still compete on the airwaves. And get his message out to voters in states he can pick up delegates in.

8. You didn't read my post
Edwards' Super Tuesday ad buy will be approximately three-quarters the size of the celebrity candidate's. I don't think the $1.2 million figure does not include advertising. He spent $2 million on ads in South Carolina alone.

10. We will see if his buys help him more than they did in SC.
How much is he spending this week nationally on ad buys in dollars?

I have to admit that I am very skeptical that his ad buys would come that close to the big guys.
I know that they have been squirreling away every cent to throw at these races next week.
And I think their ad budgets are proprietary. So how would you know what they are spending?

But maybe I am all wet about that.

9. "Advance his position?"
Isn't that what ideas are for? :)

11. You misunderstand my meaning.
By position, I mean his success percentages at the polls next Tuesday.
