divider...he wants to give us HOPE? I guess that's only when it suits him.....during a stump speech. Geezus.

They had agreed to sit together for the SOTU to show DEMOCRATIC UNITY and Barack reneged after the Kennedy endorsement and sat with Ted instead. Nice guy. He cares about the party. I can tell.

56. Well in any context unity for its own sake is ridiculous
Hillary is not going to minimize her own flaws by making nicey-nice to Obama, especially after she (fairly or unfairly) tried to skewer him and patronize his supporters as naive and stupid, especially after pulling the gender card after the first debate where she got it the worst mainly because of her position on the Iraq war. Message: "I can give it out but I can't take it." this is typical for people who have no argument.

42. "unity" in this scenario is Hillary trying to catch some of Obama's reflected glow
She's trying to keep company where she's not wanted than crying foul when people reject her.

C'mon Hillarites, nobody's obligated to like Hillary, nobody's obligated to believe her and nobody's obligated to vote for her, and if nobody feels obligated to do these things than nobody will.

It's pretty sad when you have to shame people into supporting you because you can't inspire them.

He is a very plain thin brown paper package tied up with string (David Axelrod) and delivered to us by the Chicago political machine.

He has been David's lab project for 15 years.

I doubt Obama has ever cast a vote or (not voted) on a controversial matter (including the state senate) without consulting with David.

They're only ever unified during elections than it's back to bashing liberals in order to gain traction against the Republicans.

I don't want "unity" just so Hillary can pretend she's been on the right side all along.

68. And Bush he did shake hands with, and also clapped the whole time Bush was
entering the hall. Every time I think oh, well, he may be the nominee so I am going to focus on all the positives -- his intellect, charm, galvanizing effect he has on the young people -- he does something to push me away.

From the Washington Times:

When Mr. Bush entered the House chamber at 9:05, Mrs. Clinton stopped clapping after a few moments. Mr. Obama, however, clapped for almost the entire four minutes that Mr. Bush took to walk down the aisle.

...

On his way out of the chamber after his speech, Mr. Bush shook Mr. Obama's hand and then Mr. Kennedy's, and made a few quick remarks to both, drawing a smile from Mr. Obama.
