Barack is the only way to stop a McCain presidency
Now that the Straight Talk Express has all but clinched the GOP ticket, we all need to come to our senses - don't put up Hillary against a moderate like McCain - its guaranteed Republican win.

Edwards people - its essentially on you guys to decide.

soldiers and all McCain can say is lets keep them there for 100-1000 years what ever it takes.

Out of the RINOS, I prefer McCain.

Only because he can beat Hillary.

He won’t beat Obama though. No one can, as far as I can see.

52. ..
Whoever thinks Barack Hussein Obama wont get decimated in a general election is really naive. The repigs are salivating for a chance to run against them.

I give the democrats credit for finding a way to lose when they were handed the 08 presidential election. John Edwards was our only chance to win for sure.

8. "Edwards performs best against each of the leading Republicans."
On the Democratic side, Edwards performs best against each of the leading Republicans. In addition to beating Huckabee by 25 percent and McCain by 8 percent, the North Carolina Democrat beats Romney by 22 percentage points (59 percent to 37 percent) and Giuliani by 9 percentage points (53 percent to 44 percent).

While the survey shows McCain and Edwards performing best in their respective fields, both candidates continue to significantly trail their parties' front-runners significantly. In the national horse race numbers released Monday, McCain trails Giuliani by 11 percentage points, and Edwards is behind Clinton by 26 percentage points.

"Edwards is the only Democrat who beats all four Republicans, and McCain is the only Republican who beats any of the three Democrats," Holland said. "Some might argue this shows that they are the most electable candidates in their respective parties.

Barack will attract the independents over McCain. Barack will trump McCain over the economy. The republican base hates McCain and will largely stay home...unless he's running against Hillary, that is?

48. No he won't be, Republicans base doesn't even like McCain
he is too moderate for them. So it would be a big plus in terms of turnout for Congressional seats, and Obama will motivate a lot of people who would otherwise not vote, to come out for him. We saw this in Iowa and South Carolina in a major way.

I wouldn't be surprised if Obama wins by a large margin in the GE because many of the polls are not counting on the big turnout from people who otherwise don't vote.

51. So if we Democrats don't blow it by electing Obama, and by the
strong showing in Florida, because I can'help but to think that when a candidate who didn't campaign in the state at all comes in first ahead of all the Republicans, who have been campaigning hard there, that is to significant to ignore. And it'an even bigger victory because the Democrats who voted for Hillary knew their vote didn'even count, I think this is an indication that Hillary would win by a landslide in the general election.
