A Time To Choose: Clinton/Bayh vs. Obama/Sebelius

One of these two will probably be the Dem ticket. Which one would you pick?

She doesn't bring a state that matters. He's already from the Midwest, so she doesn't give him a region that matters. She doesn't lend him what he is perceived to be weaker on: national security creds and foreign policy experience. I suppose she'll kick ass on the pothole budget and the state game commission appointments...

Sebelius has a lot of great qualities.

She's cool, I don't mean hip, I mean poised and competent. She was named one of the nation's Top 5 governors. She won (twice) in a red state, without being a total DINO. She's handsome - she doesn't look like a cheerleader or a hag. It's not fair, but people do evaluate women on their looks. When some Americans vote for the candidate they'd rather have a beer with, Governor Sebelius is the sort you'd rather have a coffee (or tea) with. In fact, I often wish SHE were the woman running.

However, she would be a horrible running mate for Obama. Obama's "weakness" right now is perceived lack of experience in foreign affairs. So how exactly is a female governor going to help fill that gap? I think Bill Richardson would be a good running mate for Obama. Lots of foreign policy experience and would help pick up some Hispanic voters who might be inclined to shy away from an African American candidate (minority rivalry).

and you yourself admit it. I'm not slamming her, just saying she doesn't have what he needs. I'm sure she's very competent, though.

I guess she just isn't great at giving the Dem response to the SOTU, from what I heard.

Governor. She most certainly is a good person and a good governor, and I could support her on our ticket very enthusiastically.
