Handy Guide to February 5th "Super Tuesday" Information

California - Open Primary (441 delegates) - Electronic voting with paper audit
Delegates are allocated proportionally with a 15 percent threshold.
Primary participants must be registered Democrats or "decline to state" voters who request a Democratic ballot.

New York - Primary (281 delegates) - Electronic voting with paper audit
151 district delegates, 20 unpledged PLEO, 24 members of Congress, 4 unpledged at-large, 30 pledged PLEO, 51 pledged at-large delegates

Massachusetts - Primary (121 delegates)
61 district-level allocated proportionally with 15 percent threshold, 40 unpledged party leaders, 20 at-large.

Georgia - Open Primary (103 delegates) - Electronic voting with no paper audit
57 district-level, 14 unpledged PLEO, 2 unpledged add-on, 11 pledged PLEO, 19 at-large
Delegates allocated proportionally with a 15 percent threshold.

Illinois - Primary (185 delegates) - Electronic voting with paper audit
153 pledged, 32 unpledged. Of the 153 pledged delegates, 100 are district-level delegates elected at Feb. 5 primary; 20 are pledged PLEO delegates who will be selected May 5, 2008 by a quorum of the district-level delegates; and 33 at-large delegates who will be selected May 5, 2008 by a quorum of the district-level delegates).Of the 32 unpledged delegates, 29 are unpledged PLEOs that will be confirmed by the DNC secretary to the Illinois Dem party no later than March 1, 2008, and the other 3 are unpledged add-on delegates that will be selected May 5, 2008

Alabama - Open Primary (60 delegates)
34 district-level, 11 at-large, 7 pledged PLEO, 8 unpledged
Allocated proportionally, with a 15 percent threshold. Within a congressional district, if no candidate reaches 15 percent, the threshold shall be the percentage of the vote received by the front-runner in the district, minus 10 percent.

Minnesota - Caucus (88 delegates)
47 district delegates, 14 unpledged PLEO, 2 unpledged add-on, 9 pledged PLEO,16 at-large delegates
Democrats hold four precinct caucuses on Feb. 5, followed by county unit caucuses (which are county caucuses everywhere except Duluth and St. Cloud, where they are based on the state Senate districts), then congressional caucuses and finally the state convention.
When caucus-goers sign in they agree that they are not active members of another party and that they intend to vote for a Democrat in the general election

Tennessee - Open Primary (85 delegates) - Electronic voting with no paper audit
44 district-level; 15 at-large; 9 pledged PLEO; 17 unpledged. Delegates are allocated by a proportional representation system with a 15 percent threshold.

New Jersey - Primary (127 delegates)
70 district-level, 18 unpledged PLEO, 2 unpledged add-ons, 14 pledged PLEO, 23 at-large. Delegates are allocated proportionally with a 15 percent threshold.

Arizona - Primary (67 delegates)
37 district delegates, 10 unpledged PLEO, 1 unpledged add-on, 7 pledged PLEO, 12 at-large

Connecticut - Primary (60 delegates)
31 district delegates, 11 unpledged PLEO, 1 unpledged add-on, 6 pledged PLEO, 11 at-large
Unaffiliated voters can change their registration up until noon the day before the primary.

Oklahoma - Primary (47 delegates)
25 district-level, 8 at-large, 5 pledged PLEO, 8 unpledged PLEO, 1 unpledged add-on. Delegates are allocated by a proportional representation system with a 15 percent threshold.

Colorado - Caucus (71 delegates)
55 pledged, 16 unpledged. Of the 55 pledged delegates, 36 are district-level, 12 are at-large and 7 are PLEO; of the 16 unpledged delegates, 15 are PLEO and 1 is an add-on.

Utah - Primary (29 delegates)
15 district delegates, 5 unpledged PLEO, 1 unpledged add-on, 3 pledged PLEO, 5 at-large delegates

Missouri - Primary (88 delegates)
72 are pledged and 16 are unpledged. Of the 72 pledged delegates, 47 are district-level, 16 are at-large and 9 are PLEOs; of the 16 unpledged, 8 are DNC members, 5 are Democratic members of Congress, 1 is a distinguished party leader and 2 are add-ons.

Kansas - Caucus (40 delegates)
21 district-level, 7 at-large, 4 pledged PLEO, 8 unpledged. Delegates are allocated proportionally with a 15 percent threshold.
Democrats' "first determining step" is the Feb. 5 local unit conventions. District conventions will be held April 12 to select district-level delegates. The state convention is scheduled for May 17. There, unpledged add-on, pledged PLEOs and at-large delegates will all be chosen

New Mexico - Primary (38 delegates)
State party Web site describes the Feb. 5 event as a caucus, but registered Democrats can cast absentee ballots from Jan. 12-Jan. 24.
17 district delegates, 11 unpledged PLEO,1 unpledged add-on, 3 pledged PLEO, 6 at-large delegates

Arkansas - Primary (47 delegates) - Electronic voting with no paper audit
22 district-level, 11 unpledged PLEO, 1 unpledged add-on, 5 pledged PLEO, 8 at-large.
Delegates allocated proportionally with a 15 percent threshold.

Delaware - Primary (23 delegates) - Electronic voting with no paper audit
15 pledged (10 district-level, 3 at-large selected at state convention on April 5, 2 PLEOs selected at state convention on April 5), 8 unpledged (7 unpledged PLEOs who are confirmed by the DNC secretary to the Delaware Democratic Party no later than March 1, and 1 unpledged add-on delegate that will be selected at the state convention on April 5)

Idaho - Caucus (23 delegates)
12 district delegates, 4 unpledged PLEO, 1 unpledged add-on, 2 pledged PLEO, 4 at-large delegates
Voters do not register by party but caucus attendees pledge that they are participating as Democrats

North Dakota - Open Primary (21 delegates)
7 are superdelegates. 14 voting delegates at stake. Proportionally allocated with 15 percent threshold. If one candidate gets 66 percent of all the votes in, all delegates are allocated to that candidate

Alaska - Primary (18 delegates)
On Feb. 5, voters will participate in precinct/congressional district caucuses to choose delegates to the state convention (May 23-25). Delegates will be chosen there to attend the national convention.
Delegates are allocated proportionally with a 15 percent threshold

5. OC, I did it for you!
Actually, I wanted to pull as much info on this outrageous day since it's going to be historic one way or another... caucuses, open primaries, e-voting with no trail, so many media markets to have to participate in...

It's going to be a wild ride, my brother....

Does that means John Edwards' could win no delegates in many of these states despite it being proportionally divided if he doesn't meet the 15% threshold?

If he gets 15% as the viable threshold, he would get some delegates.
