5. It was just so exciting
to see he still got some votes even though he's no longer in the running. It made me feel good - THAT's why I posted.

Perhaps you can find it in your heart to forgive me.

6. A deadlocked Denver convention may produce a hunt for a
nominee other than the four still left.

It would ideally be someone who knows foreign policy stuff, has a long record with domestic policy, maybe somebody who thinks John Bolton was a 4-star prick, and possibly someone with a sense of humor and unassailable vision.

Those 14,995 people may be prophetic.

It's a statistical longshot but it ain't a bad idea.

17. Hi, 1corona4u. No, I didn't watch last night...
But Biden is always good.

I know he said he was not interested in being Sec. of State.

But I hope he might reconsider.

20. Hillary picked up at least one delegate today:
Congresswoman Maxine Waters endorsed Senator Clinton. As a Democratic member of Congress, Ms. Waters will be a delegate to the Democratic national Convention.

22. Nice To See - Brokered Convention
Edited on Wed Jan-30-08 12:01 AM by Steely_Dan
Biden has enjoyed considerable support here at the DU. In every DU poll taken on who your second choice would be, Biden always came in first. With so much support here, I can't imagine why he did not finish better in Iowa. He was WITHOUT A DOUBT the most experienced and qualified candidte from either side. HE WOULD HAVE BEEN A SHOE-IN to beat ANY Republican nominee.

It was the SANE choice. Is he Dennis Kucinich? No. But nether is he the glamour candidates we are left with who would sell their fucking soul to be President.

All of you "starry eyed" idealists out there that are utilizing your "faith" that your choice will be the agent of change and pinning your infatuation on "hope"...You should have made your decision based on your ability to REASON and NOT your fleeting heart. You should have asked the hard questions. The kind of questions that only Joe Biden was answering. We have all been screaming that our leaders do not live in the reality based world. Biden was for real. He was genuine...a statesman unlike any we've seen in decades. And now...and now he is cast off to the side for the media generated that remain.

The two remaining front runners are bickering with each other like little school children. And it's even reflected here on the DU. I have a feeling that many, many people out there who couldn't wait to get a Democrat into office are feeling pretty discouraged right about now. They are seeing that the Dems are no different than the Repugs.

And if you think the mud-slinging is bad right now between these two front runners, just wait until the Republicans get a hold of them. If I had not discarded my tin-foil hat years ago, I would venture to say that this has all been a Republican conspiracy to insure that they will retain the WH in November. The very two candidates that scare the Republicans the least are the exact candidates that we are putting forward.

I wanted an adult to run this country for a while. But it's the same shit...just a different day.

26. I was going to vote for him if he hadn't dropped out. I voted for
Hillary and went to her..what was actually a "Thank-you" party and for some reason this has made her the worst person in the world. :) I got to see a famous woman in person and it was great. She said the same thing she's been saying with a few new touches, but she kept it short and don't you think if you were a politician and you had an opportunity to face some of the almost million voters who voted for you..uh.. that you would take it? There would be no reason for Obama to show up after the voting stopped and the campaigning time would be over because why show up for second place. If Obama had come in first with almost a million votes, he might have wanted to go thank the Floridians who through no fault of their own have been disenfranchised once again.

God, I've seen so much vitriol on this site that I've just about lost it. Oops..not on this post...sorry. It's been a long night.

28. Hi Skarbrowe
I really hope you enjoyed Hillary tonight. I have talked to many friends tonight, and they all say they are glad she came. Of course they all voted for her too. :-)

I went ahead and voted for Biden today. :-) It felt good.

31. I hope so -
My best friend and I were talking about it tonight (he lives in CA) and he decided (at my urging) to go ahead and vote for Biden if he's on the ballot.

This is our only chance -- go for it!
