Lets take the White House!

Obama is a great man. I don't quite agree on the whole Osama Bin Laden boogie man influence on his foreign policy, but reading his book I am impressed by him. If the Corporations picked him because they think by calling him Barack Hussein Obama they will make people scared, lets show them they are wrong. Lets unite with the young, the people of color, the disillusioned ex Republicans, the former Kucinich supporters and now, a former Edwards supporter.

We can only clean house by getting through the door.

Focus everyone...focus.

Lets take the White House...

President Barack Hussein Obama is bringing us with him where we can continue the fight that Kucinich sees, and Edwards sees, and at least we will have a wise and charismatic leader who will have to listen.

Get ready to rock and roll because now the GOP has a clearer target.

I never thought in my worst nightmares that it would come down to this, but Hillary, as much as I distrust her, has become my #2 choice.

40. Too late to edit - just read that Edwards is dropping out.
On second thought, my wife and I will be writing Edwards' name in for both the primary and the general election.

We are so sick of choices the MSM have delivered us, we're doing this because there's nothing left to do but protest.

We hate what corporate control of everything has done to this country.

And it makes me sick to think we've got to wait another 4 or 8 years at the soonest for any real change to occur. The past 8 years have been a total nightmare. I don't know how much more we can take.

Who knows, by then, circumstances may have forced our family to evacuate - meaning, expatriate. There's so little left of this country we can identify with any more.

Not my first choice, or even my second, but Obama represents at least a shred of forward thinking. If it's Clinton it will be hard for me to even vote in November.

33. Uh...I am an Edwards supporter and I am devistated...
Just yesterday I took 2 hours to write a 16 paragraph essay to angry progressives in my area who want to vote Kucinich in the primary. I poured out all the reasons to support Edwards and tried to keep everyone focused on the bigger picture. That was yesterday! I am broken hearted, really really sad. I had a whole folder of material to bring to my caucus. I was just starting Edward's 40 page pdf on his policies, so I could support him in the caucus.

I don't have time for the past.

I am going to my caucus because I will NEVER go to sleep on this Democracy again. I will fight to keep Hillary from giving us a McCain Presidency.
I need info on Obama, other than his book, so I posted this not as a way to bother supporters but to gather with some of the smart Edwards supporters that I have come to depend on for insight. I did put in the subject line that "..for me...anyone else?".

People who need peace or who want to go do what ever they need to, to heal are welcome to not click. I am not so unusual. I know there are other Edward's supporters who are still in this race and want to have some influence and build some energy.

I am hoping to meet those people because it is hard to click on Obama threads. I will have to now... so for those Edwards supporters, my sig line will have an Obama/Edwards 2008 bumper sticker on the bottom. It used to be Edwards/Obama which I still believe would have been unstoppable. Now, given the reality, I believe that if Edwards would agree —and I do not blame him if he doesn't— this ticket would also be unstoppable.

I want a Democratic White House.

38. Happy? What do you possibly mean?
Edited on Wed Jan-30-08 10:30 AM by mirrera
How can I change this reality today? Even if the whole thing is the Charade I suspect, I only have 3 choices: Stay home, write in my choice, or vote for one of our two remaining candidates.

I won't stay home. I don't believe writing in someone will have the effect i intend, and I like Obama for the country better than Clinton. I choose to think he can win. I know they will rig every election they can, but I choose to believe that if enough of us show up he will win. I do not think Happy and McCain presidency belong in the same sentence. I don't think happy has anything to do with this thread. And I personally did what I could to support John Edward's candidacy. I don't know about you, but my caucus is on the 10th and I will inform myself as much as is possible.

If I am missing a choice of action, feel free to let me know.

Edited to add that I thought your post was a response to the OP, so I was confused by your "Happy?". I will leave this anyway but sorry!

15. Sadly - yes.
I hate that Edwards is out. He has been speaking the truth about the corporate takeover of our country with such courage and conviction. Edwards is just what we need.

Will Obama have the courage and strength to correct the disastrous policies of the Bush administration? I am not sure, but at this point, he looks like our best hope.

Obama has my support.

18. JE Supporters.. sit out the Primaries, but please vote in the GE...
I've been going through the same thing - what if Clinton wins... do I vote for her, or do I not? But, at the end of teh day, we do have judges to nominate that will influence things for a long time down the road.

I understand your pain - if Obama dropped out, I'd feel sick too. So, i'm asking you to not pick between the better of the two evils (Obama & Clinton), but please come around and vote for whoever wins the Primary so we have a shot of getting some liberals on the bench, among other things. I may just be holding my nose with you as I vote for Hillary - but i'll do it.

And I am sorry you lost your candidate.. Edwards was far & away my 2nd choice.

19. Oh fuck no, I'm now out, this fucking sucks.
Edwards was my second choice, if you could consider him that, Obama moved himself down to last on my list, due to his callous handling of the McClurkin debacle, and Hillary I loathe. FUCK! Why the fuck did the only two candidates I would ever consider drop out? Fuck!

20. I'm in!
Real bummer about John is that I was hoping he would stay in till the convention --- and bring with him the capacity to influence the Dem platform.

I'll never quite get why he did not catch on with more folks; other than the corporate-media not giving him the time of day.

That being said, Obama is an enthusiastic default position. My 18 year old daughter is THRILLED to be making her first vote ever for him! Obama carries with him an intangible which greatly appeals to young voters - and an Obama presidency would tell the world that we "get it" this time.

I can't fathom too many folks simply walking away and NOT voting against the puke nominee - too much is at stake. And yet, probably the day John drops out is not a good time to talk about a new commitment to some very dedicated Edwards supporters. In time, I'm hoping those who say - I'm outta here - will change their mind.

Go Obama!!!

Best wishes John!!!

And I'd love to see Obama give John the AG position!
