A Word from an Edwards Supporter to the Obama and Clinton Supporters

So now that my guy Edwards has decided to drop out, there will be many undecideds out there. Many of us are left trying to decide between the candidates that are left and in my opinion, the behavior of both the candidates and their supporters on DU have left many of us Edwards supporters disgusted. From posting unflattering pictures of the other candidate and saying how could you vote for this guy/gal to the constant bickering, bitching and moaning. Seeing shit that isn't there, sexism, racism, reading something into nothing over and over, doing the other sides work for them.

I can't claim to speak for my fellow Edwards people, but KNOCK IT THE FUCK OFF! Do you not know how ridiculous you sound? And to quote my guy "How is this going to get health care for children?" We have serious issues facing us and we need serious answers and serious people to give those answers. Handshake-gate, what a joke. Hillary the same as Bush, come on! Please people, for the sake of this country, it's time to get serious. If we don't, we will look ridiculous come November. And like Lewis Black says, "It's like a normal person not being able to win in the special olympics." Let's not repeat that mistake, there's too much at stake. It's our election to lose and if this place has anything to say about that these days, we will lose it.

Time for the grown ups to straighten things up around here. Are you listening grown ups in both camps?

As for me, I planned on caucusing for Edwards, I still haven't made up my mind as to who I will caucus for on Tuesday, but, I do have a leaning, unless they convince me otherwise. It's just so frustrating to see such pettiness directed toward our own.

One more thing to say, I know that I'm asking a lot of you, I know that many of you are very invested in your candidate, but, could we please, before firing off vicious attacks and responses, could we look objectively at our posts and really really think before hitting that post button. Think about the real effect what you say might have. Think about how it will look to those of us on here who haven't decided yet. How are vicious baseless attacks on either candidate going to convince any of us that your candidate is the one we want? If you truly want to advocate on your candidates behalf, do them a favor, don't go ballistic over silly things. Tell us where your person stands, tell us the good things about them, why you admire them.

but your post is fantastic. I love JE, and I adore Elizabeth. I think she is one of the bravest people I have ever seen. I also have breast cancer, and I swear I do not know HOW she does it. I am taking a break from radiation because I am burned so badly, and this brave lady is out campaigning and I can't even walk my dog! What a wimp I am! That aside, I think JE is a wonderful candidate, a great husband,, father and man. I am so saddended to see him leave, truly. And I agree with everything you say.
