I'm tired and disappointed.
Hell, I'm even tired of being disappointed. It seems like I've been disappointed for at least a decade now.

The government lets me down.
The Democratic party lets me down.
The media lets me down.
The American public lets me down.

It's exhausting.

Strangely, I'm not too disappointed in the Republicans. They've actually lived up to, or rather, down to, my expectations. In fact, they've exceeded expectations for atrocious, immoral & dishonorable behavior. Of course, silly me, I had hoped the 110 Congress would reverse some of that Republican horribleness. Or maybe the media would...or the public would... Oh well, more disappointment.

Now Edwards is out. Sure, I'm even a smidge disappointed in him. (as I am a little disappointed in myself for not doing more). But mostly, I'm disappointed in the American people.

But I suppose I shouldn't have had such high expectations. It took about six years for the country to realize that our president is a dumbass. Even now, most of us care more about American Idol and the Super Bowl than the potential leader of the country. And the media's coverage of the candidates reflects that demographic. Really, who cares about war or poverty or the environment or health care when there are more pressing issues like....snubgate.

I just hope that by November, I'm not more disappointed in my country and my party than I already am.

Yes, by their own low standards the Repugs are acquitting themselves while Democrats are failing to achieve that which they so easily could have become.
