7. It is a sad day
I wish all the Edwards supporters and he and his family the best on this day.

I'm guessing that February 5th was a big reason. It is the WORST solution to the primary season EVER.

"We have to make sure that everyone in America is just fine."

Voters in Minnesota, Oklahoma almost changed his mind!

14. Exactly, if I can vote for him here in Okla. I will
Just want to make a statement. Whether Hillary or Obama win the nomination is still reason for pause I figure why not vote who I feel would have truly made a difference. Why was Edwards not believed over the other candidates? They were believable but he wasn't??

That's a good choice. He has a decent shot at winning Oklahoma.
He will still accumulate delegates, even with him "suspending" his campaign.

Surely they don't have time to change it. This should be true of many Feb. 5th primaries.

22. It's sad. But don't feel too bad --
Edwards will have an important role in the Democratic Party during the next four years because of this campaign. Whether that's VP, AG, or something else, he'll be having an effect on the issues we care about.

28. John certainly raised the bar in this campaign.
He's not my candidate, but he will be sorely missed. I am very saddened by his retreat.

But I like the fact that he said "suspend" his campaign, not "dropping out of the race".

It sounds like he plans to still be a formative influence. I hope so.

29. We lost a candidate who was no doubt a fellow DU-er. He shared our collective values.
It's tough, but he has done good work, and will continue to.
