Am I wrong in surmising that with Edwards out we won't have a brokered convention....

If this is the case was this part of the reason why Edwards dropped out: To avoid a brawl between Clinton, Obama, and Edwards with likely less delegates?

2. I think perhaps he is hoping Feb 5th will settle it.

If theres a clear winner of states on Feb 5th, there may be pressure to stand down.

With Edwards out, whoever is leading well on Feb 6th will be in a great position.

3. It's puzzling because he could have been in the catbird seat
promising his delegates to the candidate who promised to adopt some of his better proposals, like his health care plan.

My plans to leave the country are now firmly back on track.
