IF Obama or Clinton have made an AG or VP deal with Edwards, when would
such an announcement be made?

Thanks.

1. That's an insult to Edwards, you do realize?
I guess you don't.

3. Of course it's not an insult...
It's very naive to think Edward is not a strategic player when it comes to furthering his agenda.

7. Not intended to be, so sorry if I offended JE supporters. I'm just curious as to
when a candidate announces who their VP and/or appointees will be. That's all.

Maybe I did ask it a little to soon -- I'm sorry, guys. I really understand your pain.

5. well that depends
the VP, obviously once the nomination is wrapped up. If he is AG? I wouldn't mind seeing the nominee name Edwards AG early on. Hell name the entire cabinet. Let it be a shadow cabinet, show how once a democrat takes over the WH, change for the better will happen.

9. No
nobody names their cabinet before the election for multiple reasons.

First is you don't really know who the pool of candidates is prior to the election. Nobody running for the Senate or Governorship would agree to be in the cabinet - it would destroy their election bid.

Second, if the nominee loses, he will have a whole cabinet of people branded "losers" along with him.

Third, it gives his opponents a whole team of people to dig up dirt on and smear instead of just one.

4. I don't see this OP as an insult to Edwards, as another poster did.
I was wondering the same thing; but Edwards' principles are such that I'm quite sure he is not "for sale" but I can imagine him dropping out in light of his poll numbers and throwing his votes to either Obama or Clinton. If he does so, that would be a good cue.

I'm also desperately hoping that Biden turns up in the administration of whomever wins.

6. There were rumors that Obama people had been saying
he'd be offered AG before the SC vote. There was similar chatter about Biden and SoS before Iowa. I think that it was more about drawing votes than a real offer. But I could be wrong. We shall see.

I can think of lots of jobs JE would be great for.

8. Thanks, everyone, for your input. I honestly didn't know if a candidate announces
who their VP is BEFORE they get the nomination. :hi:
