Why Not Edwards for VP with either HRC or Obama?
He was almost everybody's second choice of supporters of the two other candidates. He showed he had appeal in rural areas. His message resonates with progressive democrats. He's tested (both this time and in '04). He has a great personal story and a family which I think many Americans adore. He's a son of the South.

Yeah, yeah, I know we went there in '04, but heck, with either Clinton or Obama isn't that earth-shattering enough?

1. No, because he hasn't shown he can carry a single state.

2. I don't think it's going to happen. If I had to guess, I'd say the short list is Biden, Richardson
probably for both HRC and Obama.

3. I'd like a Hillary/Obama or Obama/Hillary ticket.
That would really piss off the right wing.

5. Put policy, integrity, passion and caring aside. That isn't why candidates pick a running mate.
The policy, vision, etc. has to come from the FRONT RUNNER. And the running mate has to bring either BIG DONORS, huge ENDORSEMENTS, or a win in a state or THREE.

If the running mate can bring all of the above, he or she is a GOLDEN CHILD.

6. I liked his message this time, but he was a lousy VP choice for Kerry
He didnt have the fire in 04 to offset Cheney in the VP race, which pretty much left poor Kerry fighting both W and Cheney by himself.

(And the Clintons were AWOL from helping the Party in 2004, but thats another story.)

I think Edwards would make a fine choice for AG, or head of the SEC in a Democratic administration where his fight against corporate influence would be more direct than as a VP.

Plus he seems to love the legal skirmishes more than the raw politics.
