Ned's my man. An awesome guy. Really committed. Here is the text of the email I received:
On this day, we owe a debt of gratitude to Senator Edwards for his issues-oriented campaign for the Democratic nomination. His challenge pushed other Democratic candidates to be bold and clear on issue after issue. We should all be thankful for the deeply inspiring and idealistic campaign he ran, and for his important and enduring work of giving voice to the voiceless - work that I know both he and Elizabeth will continue to pursue in the years to come.
Yet the primary in Connecticut is just days away. And with the campaign now down to a two-person race, I wanted to tell you about why I have been supporting Barack Obama's candidacy, and urge you to do the same.
Barack Obama has shown that of the two remaining candidates, he has the judgment to get the big decisions right, and the appeal to put together a strong progressive coalition which I believe will fundamentally change how business is done in Washington. He understands that real change doesn't mean a tax credit here or an earmark there, but fundamental reforms which will need broad-based popular support.
On the most important national security decision of our generation - the decision to go to war with Iraq - Barack Obama simply got it right while almost the entire Washington establishment got it wrong. As Barack has said, it's not enough to say you'll be ready from Day One - you have to be right from Day One too.
The polls are getting closer in Connecticut. Now more than ever, we need to stay involved.
I hope you will join me in working for real and fundamental change on February 5th. Sign up to help get out the vote for Barack Obama in next Tuesday's primary here:
http://my.barackobama.com/CTgotvRegardless of who you decide to support, I know we will all be fighting on the same side for the Democratic nominee in the very near future.
Best wishes,
Ned
