Poll question: Edwards supporters: now what?
If you're an Edwards supporter and your primary is still to come, what will you do?

1. Vote for him the primary anyway.
Vote for the nominee in the GE.

There's just not enough difference between the other two for me to care much which one wins.

19. So if you vote on principle instead of electibility...
why not Kucinich?

24. It's not principle... it's strategy.
If Edwards doesn't have many delegates, that would lessen his bargaining power at the convention.

Kucinich only has one delegate... and based on my experience last time around, he won't get any more.

8. Not a damn thing wrong with that...
There's not much difference in "The Other Two". As long as you vote Dem in the general, you're still golden.

Oregonians never get to vote for their first choices. Luckily, we have good beer.

6. Other. Research Obama and Hillary. Look for policy distinctions.
And then vote for the one I like best.

If I don't decide before the MS primary, I'll vote Edwards. I do think I'll have made a decision before then, though.

Why the fuck would you vote for someone NOT running for President ?

Kucinich and Edwards people are exposing themselves. Might as well vote for Gore.

11. Watch the debate on Thursday and watch both campaigns
to see if they adopt Edwards' positions or run to the right. No more pandering to the right. I'm leaning Clinton right now, because I don't like what I've seen from Obama, lately. I have until our Precinct Caucus on Feb 9th to decide.

14. I don't care anymore.
After ten years of fighting off the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy and Bushco, just to see two corporate candidates offered up to us by MSM, I just don't care anymore.

I'm done fighting. If John's done, I'm done. It's all a hoax, apparently.

15. How about letting us digest our lunches before demanding we go to your side?
Cripes! We need time to think and regroup. Jumping down our throats demanding we support other candidates an hour or two after hearing that Edwards is dropping out is not good strategy, so whoever you support, I am against him/her.

20. Check into a Buddhist Monastery
Until November. Chant "Om" a lot.

Emerge in time for the general election. Hold nose and vote Dem. Return to monastery. Rinse and repeat as needed.

I already voted for Edwards. Well, at least it felt good for a whole 24 hours.

23. Don't know if I qualify
At this point, Edwards was getting my vote even though I've never firmly been in anyone's camp this year. He will likely still get my primary vote, or else I will write in Kucinich as a thank you to the Texas SC. November, I write in someone to the left of Dwight Eisenhower.

Regardless, in November we will lose against McCain/Huckabee. People on DU think I'm crazy, but that ticket is scary in more ways than one, and they will be much harder to fight than people here seem to realize.

Edited on Wed Jan-30-08 06:34 PM by Hell Hath No Fury
I have serious doubts about a win by Clinton OR Obama against McCain, let alone a McCain/Huck ticket. Though he wasn't my candidate, I thought Edwards at least stood a good chance at beating McCain.

26. I gave him my support, my money, and will give him my vote!
In the GE I'll support the nominee because that's the right thing to do but as of right now my heart tells me that I might as well write in Bartlet because I don't see either Obama or Clinton winning against McCain.
