Senator Clinton's comments on the Rezko photo
Edited on Wed Jan-30-08 05:52 PM by chimpsrsmarter
“I don’t know the man (Rezko); I wouldn’t know him if he walked in the door; I don’t have a 17-year relationship with him,” Clinton told Matt Lauer. “There’s a big difference between standing somewhere, taking a picture with someone you don’t know and haven’t seen since, and having a relationship that the newspapers in Chicago have been exploring.”

ok, she admits it's him, alright? She says she hasn't seen him since them.

yes i know

" An expected response from an Obama supporter." Which i'm not btw but who cares right because if you point out the truth, you lose.

3. I think the photo is real
and believe that it was taken at a Mosely-Braun fundraiser like some blog mentioned. One question I do have is where did Drudge get the photo?

4. Hillary never "admitted" to knowing Rezko. She was going on the assumption that
the photo was real... it just shows the truth that if the photo *was* real, it was not important and would be the full extent of any "relationship" with Rezko... but Hillary's statement does not prove the photo was real.
And at this point, It does appear to be a fake.... which is a way bigger scandal than if a real photo existed.

putting out a fake photo. Thanks!

24. That would be taking things out of context.
Certainly doesn't help one's credibility.

"And accused me with no evidence."

Are you denying you said it? Because that would be all the more juicy when the archives re-open.

11. The photo is real. The NYT reported on it last week and some news
source apologized for the photo.

It was taken at a Carol Moseley-Braun fundraiser --- who Barack worked for ;-) --- and records show that neither of the Clintons ever took a quarter from Rezko.

A Rezko-Clinton Connection?

By Christopher Drew

A photograph of Antoin Rezko, an indicted Chicago businessman, standing between Bill and Hillary Rodham Clinton, which surfaced on NBC’s “Today” show on Friday, might have been taken at a 1997 fund-raiser in Chicago for former United States Senator Carol Moseley-Braun, political insiders say.

Mr. Rezko, who was once a major fund-raiser for Senator Barack Obama, Mrs. Clinton’s top rival for the Democratic presidential nomination, has never donated money to either President Clinton or Mrs. Clinton, records show...

According to the 1997 story in the Chicago Tribune, both Bill and Hillary Rodham Clinton attended the fund-raiser for Senator Moseley-Braun on June 25, 1997. And the next day, records show, one of Mr. Rezko’s companies donated $10,000 to a state Democratic party organization that was supporting Ms. Moseley-Braun, records show...

There was no immediate way to know for sure if that is when the picture was taken. But it is the best bet right now among political insiders familiar with Mr. Rezko. Mrs. Clinton attended another fundraiser for Ms. Moseley-Braun in October 1998, but President Clinton was not there...

http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/01/25/the-rezko-clinton-connection/

There's really no there there. I'm not sure why it's an issue.

Well, the part about who gave the photo to the media, in the first place and for what reason, is kinda interesting.

personally i don't think the pic is a big deal but claiming it's some "fraud" is just stupid.

13. Huh? I saw this take place on the Today Show and.....
Matt said to Hillary before showing the photo on TV: "I know you can't see this photo, but...." or something similar. Hillary couldn't even see the photo, but she didn't try to make excuses or deny it, she just pointed out that she had probably taken thousands and thousands of pictures with people she didn't know and never saw again. So BFD. This is old, stale stuff. Get a life, folks. Oh, and I am undecided at this point - not an active supporter of either Hillary or Obama. It just irks me to see this shit go on (and on, and on, and on).
