19. The IWF is bankrolled by rightwingers.
I would 'google' it, and examine its funding sources, if I were you.

14. That's exactly what he said, hnmnf. But then, you knew it would get twisted to benefit "poor Hill".
There is nothing left that would surprise me about her or her supporters.

3. No he made a legitinate criticism
That NOW press release was over the top.

No matter what candidate one supports, saying that Ted Kennedy betrayed women is over the top.

Schultz was referring to that.

7. He Was A Right Wing Blow Hard Talk Show Host
Edited on Wed Jan-30-08 06:06 PM by DemocratSinceBirth
He was a right wing talk show who went left because Insanity, Bored, Limpballs, and Savaged Weiner owned that niche...

16. The Fact That He Went Left Because That's Where The Bread Was Irks Me
At least Savaged Weiner, Insanity, Bored, and Limpballs sincerely believe the garbage they are peddling...

18. I'm not going to defend or attack his whole history
My point is that in this particular instance, that particular representative of NOW probably did significant damage to the image of the women's movement.

It was as inappropriate as it would have been for the NAACP to diss Ted Kennedy as being an anti-civil rights bigot if he had chosen to endorse Hillary over a black candidate.

20. His Fiduciary Inspired Epiphany Makes Everything He Says Suspect
Schultz's News and Views radio show was very similar to his WDAY Viewpoint program and quickly grew into a regional broadcast dominating the North Dakota airwaves, with additional listeners in South Dakota, western Minnesota, Montana, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan. Schultz's political views leaned towards the right during the early years, and Schultz told the Los Angeles Times that he "lined up with the Republicans because they were anti-tax, and I wanted to make a lot of money...." Schultz pondered a run as a Republican for the U.S. House of Representatives against Democratic Rep. Earl Pomeroy in 1994, but decided against it after visiting with state Republican leaders. Since then, he claims to have become a Democrat in 2000, although he supported several Republican candidates in that year's election. Schultz considered running for the Democratic-NPL party nomination for governor against incumbent Republican John Hoeven in 2004, but decided to continue his career in radio.

and hurts women who are fighting for equality based on our merit and not tantrums.

And Hillary is a fucking liar:

10. He was talking about their attacks on Kennedy because of the Obama
endorsement and the crap about the snub. He said instead of being an advocacy group they sound like an extremist group (something to that effect). Well, the letter to Kennedy was completely ridiculous.

They are certainly damaging their credibility.

As a woman, this crap is embarrassing me.

13. "NOW is starting to act like an extremeist organization rather than an advocay org"
The quote in context was 100% true. That NOW chapter that attacked Ted Kennedy for endorsing Obama was completely unhinged. They called it the ultimate betrayal to women (all women presumably) but didn't explain just WHY it was Obama was just so awful

15. He didn't say that. He said they SOUNDED like one when they
implied that only a woman would represent women and attacked Ted Kennedy.

21. Context!
He said the attack of N.Y.'s Now Chapter on Ted Kennedy was extreme ...
because Ted Kennedy had for years supported women's rights,
the ERA, and freedom of choice.
