Hillary just delivered the most BS line of any debate
Edited on Thu Jan-31-08 09:20 PM by ProSense
Hillary: "It took a Clinton to clean up after the first Bush, it may take another Clinton..."

Eight More Years:

So why are we expecting great things, great change, from his wife, a woman who never met a corporate executive that she didn’t love?

A second Clinton presidency would sandwich the illegitimate Bush 43 presidency as Bill Clinton’s was sandwiched by the Bush administrations. However, unlike Bill Clinton, George W. Bush’s presidency will be even more tarnished rather than burnished by having the misfortune of being sandwiched between two Clintons.

The problem I see, first off, with a Hillary Clinton presidency, is that anything Hillary does, however far from any progressive agenda it will surely be, will still be viewed upon in both the here and now and for a time into the future, as looking infinitely great by conspicuous relief.

Forget that she’s in bed with Bush’s former employers at Harken Energy. Forget about her union-busting six years on Wal-Mart’s board of directors. Forget the fact that she cannot reasonably be expected to overhaul a corrupt campaign finance environment that had gotten her into the White House and into the Senate twice. Forget the fact that she’d even hemmed and hawed about unsealing her husband’s presidential records or that she hasn‘t even begun discussing what she'd do to dismantle the 4th Reichian infrastructure that Bush will be leaving behind.

Anything she does will be marvelous to everyone who hates George W. Bush, which, according to the latest figures, is roughly 70% of the nation.

21. Nothing like Hillary though...
12 million of annual income a year versus 400,000 a year. That is not exactly comparable is it?

I refer you to my sigline. They're turned off, but you've read it.

This board REALLY needs a limit on the number of threads anyone can start in one day. You're just spamming.

14. Definite limit on thread starting AND need 500 or so non-lounge posts to start threads
It's insane that trolls can start divisive threads at 13 posts or so these days.

8. It's the same old crowd recycled so that the same
corporate pigs can eat at the trough at the taxpayer's expense. Wait and see. However, I feel that this time, whoever it is, we the people have to start shoving them to the left whether they like it or not. It happened to FDR and it worked.

I'm not a big fan of Hillary, but give credit where it is due. It was a great line and a great retort to the question.

19. But it's a line she has been using throughout the campaign...
when she's confronted with the question of another Clinton in the whitehouse.

Oh well, I guess not that many people have heard it yet...

20. Let's be honest about the type of CLEANING SERVICE Clinton provided to Bush1.
What happened to all the outstanding matters that were still current on IranContra, Iraqgate, BCCI and CIA drugrunning - matters that continually came up throughout the 90s?

Had Bill ACTUALLY 'cleaned up' in the HONEST sense there would never have been even the REMOTEST possibility another Bush would be allowed back into the WH.

18. What line would that be? All I see is your opinions.

I don't want Hillary Clinton to be our nominee but since the other alternative is Barack Obama, we're better off with Clinton. They're both fine in debates but she can win against a Republican. He can't.

We're not going to get a great president this year, IMO. But far better to have Clinton than Insane McCain or Romney. She's a very smart and disciplined person and might be great in office.

I swore I wouldn't vote for her because of all that her husband did (and I don't mean with Monica) but as always, it comes down to the lesser of two evils, and who can win.

OBAMA just spoke a B.S. line about being against the war all along. It's B.S. to claim that because he has voted along with all the other good little Dems to fund the stupid war. Saying you're against it and voting to fund it means you're supporting it.
