To do so will do nothing but help McCain or Romney acquire the presidency.

While none of us agree 100% on the platforms of our candidates, we do have the best chance of changing this country for the better if we cast our vote for whoever the dem is in the general.

This nation has been through so much over the last 7+ years. We can't afford to have a president that will continue the failed policies of the Bush administration.

When you compare the performance of our candidates last night, there in depth answers on the issues and their vision, with the performance and statements made by the republicans in the debate the night before, the choice we must make is clear.

We on the democratic side have the highground. We have the intelligence, depth and drive to put this country back on track and restore our reputation abroad. If you truly want to repair the damage done, you have to vote for our nominee, whoever it is, in the fall.

We all have our families, our children and our grandchildren to consider. It is personal. It is important and we must take a stand.

Please consider this when weighing whether or not to write in John or Dennis. I truly believe that they would encourage you to vote for the nominee.

1. Really, voting for them in a primary is one thing...
Writing them in in November screws over the party, the country and the world ~ we can't afford another four years of destruction.

4. Great point all the way through....

I would love nothing more then to go into the booth with my head held high and vote Democratic all the way, but what gets me is Obama hanging around anti gay ministers and hillary wanting us to pay for insurance? Am I wrong at all on either if I am let me know. I will vote for the democratic runner as Prez, but I just don't feel totally happy about it because of the anti gay ministers and buying your own Insurance.

5. Granted that not voting for HC or BO would cost them votes. The argument I
would make is that, while either would be marginally (more or less) better than any puke, neither will make the necessary, severe reversal of the course that * and his cronies have set the country on.

They would put moderate/centrist (but by no means liberal) judges on the courts; i.e., no Lawrence Tribe.

They would continue the corporatist-friendly policies honed to perfection by Shrub and friends, with cosmetic "fixes" that would not threaten their financial backers. This includes lip service to pro-environmental causes.

Their tendency to want to work with the enemy instead of banishing them to the basement speaks volumes to their willingness to sell out true progressive values.

Our immediate families and the world would suffer with a little more puke rule. But the only way to insure better futures for our children and grandchildren is to bury the GOP permanently. And that will not happen until the country suffers even more from the con policies. A Pyrrhic victory will cost us in the long run. The disaster of the last years will be blamed on the Democrats. We have already lost too much by throwing away the best chance for true, significant change by choosing a right of center/corporatist for our nominee.

It's called losing the battle to win the war.
