im noticing a move from the "candidate x is evil" posts to the "hes right-no shes right" type of posts. An improvement id say, no?

1. Obama supporters don't have Edwards to attack anymore.
Now they only have Hillary to kick around.

12. I was here. Hillary supporters barely noted Edwards.
Obama supporters were Desperate to knock him down because their view was that he hurt Obama the most.

We'll see.

I have plenty more to say about this Primary at DU after next Tuesday.

33. that's filtered through your bias just as my impression is
My impression was that the biggest myth on GDP for sometime was that Edwards supporters weren't attack anyone and their tone was all sweetness and light. I can think of quite a few JE supporters who attacked Obama in OP after OP, and the general attitude of JE supporters was that they were enlightened and visionary and the rest of us were just cultists and corporatists and DLC, and that JE was America's savior and the only real dem. And I saw that sanctimonious shit over and over and over again,

35. *** READ THIS. I'M VERY IMPORTANT. ***
Ha ha. I guess I remember it differently.

Doesn't matter. There's a 22 state poll on Tuesday. I'll vote for the nominee, no matter who it is.

2. Slight improvement now that the IWR stuff was talked to death last night. I expect...
...a resurgance in the Iraq War stuff though as Obama stumps about it throughout the day. Probably during his upcoming press briefing.

"talked to death"

Yeah lets get on to the important stuff, like the snubbed handshake, McClurkin and Ann Coulter's endorsements.

17. Been There Done That
But here I'll reprise:

It took a clinton to clean up after a bush, and it's going to take a clinton to clean up after this bush.

Such utter bullshit.

More like it will take another Clinton to sweep the illegalities of this imperial presidency under the rug and take the reins of the machine.

28. No, really, just click "post" up there, and then copy paste that. It should get lots of recs.
And it'll be kicked a few dozen times before people get tired of the banality, and their internet attention deficit disorder kicks in and they have something else to bash. No, really! I can do it for you if you want! :)

16. Nearly *half* of all posts on the first page were IWR.
Basically Obama supporters, after the "momment of solidarity," spent the whole night talking about the one point in the whole debate where Obama did well.

14. We wouldn't want Obama to actually talk about something that matters, would we?
Lets just forget about that little inconvenience over in Iraq and focus on how everyone is sexist against Hillary, Obama snubbed Hillary, and how it will be so wonderful to have Bill back in the White House.

20. I'm against the substanceless posts, and spam.
Any time a given topic gets 20+ posts on the first page of the forum I tend to stay out of them except for maybe one or two where I am talking to one person in particular.

5. Yes I have, and I hope it continues.
The post earlier about "supporter" versus "fanatic" hit it right on the nose. I'd like to see reasoned debate amongst supporters. Unfortunately, those threads don't get 250+ responses. :D

7. I think the debate's cordial tone and the headlines that reflect
that tone have calmed people down.

I hope it stays that way because McCain will be a formidable opponent for either Obama or Hillary.

Let's focus our energies on defeating the Repubs!

9. No, I've noticed the EXACT opposite.
People have slimed all over Edwards threads and many of those threads which are only 2 days old have been already archived.

Meanwhile, other ridiculous threads linger around here forever.

25. I agree, Obama/Clinton 08 would be a remarkable ticket...
The audience reaction to Wolfie's question about "Are we looking at the Democratic 'Dream Ticket'?" was amazing to hear....

(...still rather NOT have HRC on the ticket if we didn't have to..too much baggage from her spouse...but the ticket could be a helluva lot worse... ;-))

22. the first step is hiding threads that are flamebait
Edited on Fri Feb-01-08 11:01 AM by TexasObserver
Don't feed the agents of conflict. I hide them as soon as I see pejoratives in the title line. Anyone telling me someone hit a home run, body slammed the other candidate, etc. gets the auto hook.

Life is too short to spend it arguing with fools.

23. Yup.. the debate brought up a lot of people last night, I think..
When the candidates aren't as devisive and bickering, I think their supporters follow the leader.

Both Obama & Hillary were civil last night, and I think the majority of the public is following that lead. I also think we're starting to realize that only one of these candidates is going to make it to the G.E., and both are 100,000,000 times better then McCain (or Romney).

It seems the Hillary bashing even fell a bit over at Daily Obama (Kos), since last night's debate.
