Ethel Kennedy endorses Obama - - 'Barack is so like Bobby'
Latest in Kennedy endorsement contest: Ethel Kennedy says 'Barack is so like Bobby'

There's no competition more heated than the one between Democrats Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton for endorsements from Kennedys.

The latest round: Obama just released a statement from Ethel Kennedy, widow of Robert F. Kennedy. She called him "a magnetic force" and said: “Barack is so like Bobby, who struggled for the rights of the poor in the Mississippi Delta and Appalachia, traveled to California to stand in solidarity with Cesar Chavez and farm workers, and fought to end another war that cost so many lives."

I certainly can't argue that Ethel didn't know Bobby best, but of everyone in the Kennedy clan RFK Jr is guy in my mind who picked up Bobby's torch and is carrying it for another generation. Well if that family can stay civil with each other through all of this we here at DU should be able to also.

13. yes. we should stay civil.
my husband who was a long time republican became a democrat this year and voted for obama. he likes hillary too. we did argue politics, but never got mean with each other.

"competition" between members of the Kennedy Clan in terms of the endorsements. Like most democratic families, there are differences of opinion on many important topics. That is a good thing.
