CONGRESS People! A President can't do it alone!
Do y'all realize that no candidate's plans will get enacted AS IS?

They will debated and modified in Congress. Like it or not, the president will have to work with Congress, maybe with just a slim majority.

Everyone needs to stop with "So-and-so will do X" and "So-and-so's minor difference in policy means everything in the world!"

Please, take a step back, and consider that.

3. I tend to agree, personally...
and that's part of the reason why you see red-state Dem officials, like Gov. Sebelius (Kansas) and Sen. Conrad (ND) coming out for Obama.

We shouldn't ignore those states, either. Someone pointed out in another thread that we often ignore those red states, then complain when we don't have enough votes in Congress to get something done. Even those states where a Dem couldn't win in presidential election, they can certainly pick up down-ticket races and maybe even a senate seat!

I believe with Bush and GOP fatigue, we're in a unique moment to really expand the ranks of Democratic voters!

I hope the next Democratic president and Congress can unite the nation around progressive policies.

14. You would be surprised.
I have two pug women, who are friends of mine, who are voting for her because they feel let down by the Republicans and, also, because they believe it is time for a female to be President of the US. We are unlikely to have another viable female candidate for decades.

5. The key to this is going to be getting a Progressive Populist Congress with a veto proof majority.
I do not see HRC leading us where we need to go. Nor do I see Obama playing nice with the vested interests groups helping much. Face it people the reason these are our two "candidates" is because neither one wants to challenge the powers that be.
