I have to compliment Hillary on this brilliant strategy.
When she cries, she appeals to people who like crying, and the people who do not like crying can all be beat down with accusations of sexism. That is a good move when you want to win.
18. I Can't Think Of Many Examples To Support That
I really have to stretch (unsuccessfully) to think of the last instance I saw or heard a white preacher orating from behind anything but a real church pulpit. But it is true that some politicians deliver their speeches like preachers, and black politicians in particular are fond of trying to channel MLK, Jr.
20. There are plenty of white politicians who are great speakers, Ted Kennedy and Bill Clinton
come to mind right away. They can give very impassioned uplifting idealistic speeches, though I suppose you are right they are not often referred to as "preaching" when they do that. Maybe preaching is a "Black" thing in our culture now. That had not occurred to me before.
Obama's a great speaker. Hillary is a great debater. Bill is great at both. Bush is good at neither.
Is there a Black who is a great public speaker who doesn't preach? And is there a great white speaker who does?
Trying to jerk us around one way or the other with her humanity. :sarcasm:
And this SCARES and DISGUSTS people who've lived through Bush-who's really contriving here?
I'm not half as concerned about Clinton's ability to cry as I am about Obama's inability to either extemporize or mask his negative emotions from showing on his face. This is where the unreadiness shows.
