Obama campaign in DE wonders where is Joe Biden?

http://www.boston.com/news/politics/politicalintelligence/2008/02/delaware_basks.html

WILMINGTON, Del. -- "This is not Iowa, it's not New Hampshire, it's not Nevada, and it's not South Carolina," John Carney, Delaware's lieutenant governor, explained to the giant crowd gathered in a downtown square here to greet Barack Obama. Not that they needed the geography lesson.

But Carney's introduction wasn't a lesson; it was a celebration of Delaware's prominence as one of the states that will help decide the Democratic nominee on Super Tuesday. Obama and Hillary Clinton are battling for the state's 15 delegates.

"We are in the first state," Carney said. "And we earned that title because we were the first to say, 'Yes we can!'''

Nothing against Carney, but there's another Delaware politician Obama would have preferred introduce him: Senator Joe Biden, one-time presidential hopeful, foreign-policy sage, and Democratic senior statesman. Alas, there were no Biden sightings this afternoon, but that didn't stop Obama from singing his praises.

Obama said he was "proud of the campaign that ran, the knowledge that he brought to bear, the vision on foreign and domestic policy he applied to every debate. He is an outstanding chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee, he was an outstanding candidate for president of the United States, he's a great friend of mine."

Translation: Joe, please, please endorse me

Thank you Senator Biden for not getting into the middle of this.

1. Great post Pirhana. Joe and family resting and getting ready for
Super Bowl, doncha think? I mean, he's the kind of guy, if you're out, you're out. It's Sunday, day off, I'm not leaving my home. Thank God. Miss him terribly.

3. The way I look at it, is that Biden knows he will have to work with either
President Clinton or President Obama.

Better working relationships start without bad feelings.

2. Somewhat risky statements if Biden were to come out for Hillary.
But time is running out for that awkward moment.

10. Right. A wise choice.
I'm hoping Gore and Edwards also don't step-in until a nominee is chosen, owing to their importance as champions of their respective causes, climate change and poverty. I'd prefer they not alienate the eventual nominee by having endorsed their opponent.

5. I'm kind of surprised that Biden hasn't endorsed Hillary
just an opinion, and I wouldn't hold it against him at all if he did.

8. Personally -
I get the feeling that Biden likes Obama.

I saw him on Hardball and he was praising Obama's speech, and endorsement by Ted Kennedy.
And there is another reason, which I won't post....

11. Although I think he's known Hillary for years and considers her a friend, I
also think he sees Obama's strong points too. He's probably like many of us -- feels they both would be a good president and won't make up his mind until he has to.
