She came across as likable and I appreciated her not badmouthing Ob ama at all. But the questions were all softballs, and likely staged.

And I think it's important for candidates to have air time to get in discussions about the specifics of their ideas. Many, many people do not have internet connections and can't look these things up on the websites.

16. We can help rural economies in our nation
by investing in new energies. We need a grid and transmission system so that the steady wind you have bowing in North Dakota can be sold around the nation.

WE need high speed internet everywhere so you can live in a rural community and be connected to the world economy.

30. Will you support state of the art high speed coast to coast train system
Hillary: I am a big fan of rail. We can't just depend on our cars. We will be contending with green house gas emmissions, rail is such a good alternative form of travel. Use all forms of rail, including "light rail" to link up cities. Amtrak has been underfunded and poorly maintained, the tracks are too narrow for high speed trains. This is something I will work on.

46. Q. What did your mother teach you that will help make you a great President?
"Know what you really believe and then stand up and advocate for it, stand up and live it... In public life you should be judged by whether you have made life better for other people. My mother did not have an easy life, but she taught me that every day you can do something to help some body. That doesn't have to mean running for President. It could be calling on our neighbor. We need leadership that says we can be better than we are now, that supports that"

(obviously not all exact quotes - I can't type that fast!)

Heck of a story, her mom.

She was voluntarily orphaned, abandoned by her parents. I wish she talked more about her early life, it's such a powerful story. My mom was abandoned too and I can tell you it has a powerful impact even to the next generation.

62. What really was important about this event
is that it gave Hillary a chance to talk for well over an hour on a full range of issues. She didn't have a telepromptor, she wasn't reading a speech. This wasn't a campaign releasing two new 30 second sound bite ads. Hillary spoke about a lot of specifics, like college loans, like national service programs, like standing up for accurate science, and the need for light rail to connect cities, and food security, and firing all those private contractors who have been performing government jobs like a private army. That never happens in campaing commercials. All you get from those are snappy slogans.

is genius. Putting Americans to work repairing the infrastructure instead of building more ticky tacky subdivisions makes so much sense.
