Bob Herbert playing the "underdog" card again for Obama
Here is Bob Herbert from the NY Times, who has a platform where he has the opportunity twice a week--and never wastest it, to tell the world how wonderful Barack obama is and how evil Hillary and Clinton are, telling his millions of readers how Obama is a poor underdog who is "sailing against the wind".

Ha! That may have been a year ago, but now we know that the forces of the mainstream media, and yes, this includes the NYT, are doing whatever possible to skew the elections in Obama's favor.

Herbert pretends that he doesn't know that his Clinton-hating buddies Maureen Dowd, Frank Rich and David Brooks will post back to back to back column bashing Hillary, or Bill, or both...Krugman is the sole writer who tilts towards Hillary.

Sometimes it's not clear if Herbert is a columnist or Barack Obama's campaign advisor. Few journalists are this biased.

And he counts on us to be stupid enough to believe him. The sad part is...some of us are. (Not me).

4. He *is* the underdog at this point. Clinton still leads nationally.
What part of the article do you find fault with? The author clearly and succinctly lists the arguments against Obama winning the nomination (all of which we have read here at DU):
  • A substantial percentage of whites who will not vote for a black candidate for president under any circumstance.

  • Obama is struggling in his quest for Hispanic votes.

  • Obama has not won a majority of the white votes in any of the contests thus far.

  • This year’s election is too important to take such a risk. After eight years of George W. Bush, another four or eight years of Republican rule would be catastrophic.

  • Obama's résumé is thin.

  • Obama’s not the best debater in the world

  • Hillary Clinton has demonstrated beyond a doubt that she is smart, tough and fully capable of being president.

Then he points out a few facts:
  • Well-educated young people are the distilled version of Mr. Obama’s supporters.

  • The advantage in this race is still substantially with Senator Clinton.
