Report from California.
I joined about 20 other Obama supporters this evening during the commute rush in the S.F. Bay area. We set up camp on one of the busiest intersections in the eastbay, waving American flags and Obama signs. In a couple hours time, there were hundreds of honks of approval, and 4 people I counted with downturned thumbs (I assume those four prefer Clinton).

I feel very good about Obama's chances here. It's clear there is a lot of enthusiasm and support from the people.

Right now I'm listening to the Grateful Dead show video stream wirelessly from my ibook to my home stereo. I'm feeling good. :-)

Face it, Mrs. Inevitable will have a fight on her hands in California.

4. I don't know, don't really care

let there be songs to fill the air (and hope)

Playing Ripple now...

If my words did glow with the gold of sunshine
And my tunes were played on the harp unstrung,
Would you hear my voice come thru the music,
Would you hold it near as it were your own?

It's a hand-me-down, the thoughts are broken,
Perhaps they're better left unsung.
I don't know, don't really care
Let there be songs to fill the air.

Ripple in still water,
When there is no pebble tossed,
Nor wind to blow.

Reach out your hand if your cup be empty,
If your cup is full may it be again,
Let it be known there is a fountain,
That was not made by the hands of men.

There is a road, no simple highway,
Between the dawn and the dark of night,
And if you go no one may follow,
That path is for your steps alone.

Ripple in still water,
When there is no pebble tossed,
Nor wind to blow.

You who choose to lead must follow
But if you fall you fall alone,
If you should stand then who's to guide you?
If I knew the way I would take you home.

La dee da da da, La da da da da, Da da da, Da da, Da da da da da
La da da da, La da da, Da da, La da da da, La da, Da da.

7. It's a good thing you don't care, because it's going to be particularly brutal.

14. There is a road, no simple highway.
Perhaps it will be, but I'm confident where the road is going, ultimately.

I'm sure he just wandered in to play the part of the Clintonite Wheaties-Pisser.

but I can't imagine it really has all that much to do with Hillary or Obama.

Maybe you should drink some water, take some vitamin B, and come back to the computer after you sober up.

impertinent as to not support Hillary.

Obama wasn't my first choice. Or my second. But I do think he's got the potential to be an extremely inspirational, transformative political figure. I also like Hillary- always have, although I've liked her less since she got in the Senate and started playing to the right on things like Iraq. But my fear is, she would be a disaster as the nominee, particularly against someone like McCain.

As I said downthread to this, er.. individual, I can't lose tomorrow. Either way, I win.

The only person I was seriously emotionally invested in for the Democratic nomination never chose to run.

Both Hillary and Obama are good, smart people, and on concrete policy proposals they're not that far apart.

Personally, I don't think either candidate will score a knockout blow tomorrow, although I think Obama's got the momentum and he might surprise a lot of people.

I support Obama, but if he doesn't win, he doesn't win.. I don't get why certain members of the Hillary crowd are so frothingly unhinged at the prospect of someone besides her getting it. Maybe because they bought into all this entitlement/inevitability stuff she's been floating for the past year, and the reality check has been unpleasant?

36. And this is based on what?
Just about every poll is showing a dead heat between Obama and Clinton and that Obama clearly has the big mo. It's clear that Cali will be extremely close.

20. My emotional investment is in the November election, not tomorrow's.
Understand what I'm saying? I *CAN'T* "lose" tomorrow.

Nevertheless, your behavior around here of late is a stellar example of why Hillary has pissed off a lot of people who otherwise might be disposed to enthusiastically support her.

5. I saw some Obama folks up here in Sonoma doing the same today.
Looked pretty young, at least to me they did. Which is a good sign.

My stream from iclips is breaking up; (as usual, I'm sure the number of Deadheads on the planet was vastly underestimated by the people handling the bandwidth issues)

I'll probably just wait & listen to the show later. I caught a bit of "Come Together" & Deep Elem, though. Nice to see Karan back.
