FLYING PIGS SIGHTED IN MINNESOTA
I've mentioned quite a few times that my dad (79 yrs old) is soo conservative he makes oxy-rush look liberal. Nonetheless, dad is rabid-ditto head listener to oxy-rush. that my dad voted for bush both times goes without saying.

My mom, (75 yrs old), has always had more of a liberal bent, so it came as a big surprise that she voted for bush in 2000 because of his "taxcuts", and who the hell knows why - but she voted for him again in 2004.

In 2006, while visiting them, my dad and I got into a heated 'discussion' over bush. My mother quietly said "he's the worst president ever, I regret voting for him, if I could take back my vote I would". I went to the window and looked up at the sky. My mom asked me what I was looking at. I told her I was trying to see if there were any flying pigs roosting in the trees.

well, if there are such as thing as flying pigs, they were flying last night. My mom called to check in, see how things were going.

I know my dad doesn't like Romney, and in the past has spoken favorably about McCain - but knowing he's an avid ditto-head and oxy-rush is coming out against McCain - I asked my mom who dad was supporting - Romeny or McCain.

She chuckled and said "neither", he wasn't going to the caucus and probably won't vote for president in November although he will vote on the other items/offices.

I asked "what about you?"

well, she's undecided, but most likely for Obama because she has concerns over the rabid republics creating trouble for Hillary and thus distracting her from being able to do her job. Mom isn't 100% sold on Obama, but as she put it "we don't need another variation of bush"

She also mentioned that my aunt and uncle will be participating in their FIRST caucus, and are also going for Obama. (they both has previously voted for bush)

So minnesotians, while you are out and about today, especially in the Minneapolis area - keep an eye out for flying pigs - sounds like they will be out in force.

2. If you can figure out how to re-slop them mid-air...
... you've got a money-making enterprise on your hands.

:toast:

And I know you can do the artwork of a tanker trough, refueling them, and give it to your dad to needle him.

; )

And this has been - by far - the most exciting Presidential primary race I've ever seen.

Love me a roller coaster, don't you?

13. Does that happen at a certain age?
never happened when I was younger. could eat hot dogs, cheezburgers, cotton candy, fried dough and go on all the rides with no problem.

use to be able to read and ride a car with no problem too

around my late 40's, the motion sickeness started to kick in. not as the driver, but as a passenger in a car, sometimes driving along a twisty-turney road I'll get sick too.

14. Gulp.
Yeah, but - how windy were the roads your school bus traveled? I think I may have the nose-in-the-book, winding-hairpin-curves, and one helluva-fun-dip-that-the-driver-always-took-just-the-right-way training for that.

3. I have been shocked at the number of lifelong Republicans
... whom I have heard give favorable expressions towards Obama the past few weeks. We're talking extended family members and business acquaintances who will vote for anyone who runs in the general election against Hillary.

McCain has some old timers scared because they don't trust him with Social Security, but they're not scared enough to vote for Hillary.

Hillary has older Democrats, but not older indies and Republicans, who do seem to have a favorable attitude about Obama.

6. Me too. We have some neighbors, the staunchest of republi-CONS,
who voted for bush twice, classic Clinton-haters, the works. And guess what they have on their front lawn as of this past weekend? An Obama yard sign.

And they're sincere about it. Hell hath frozen over in West L.A.

5. People really believe that Obama loves America.
What I mean is - he is not in this for his own personal career path or to satisfy a need to be in the spotlight.

There is something about Obama that people can see him on TV and believe that he is absolutely 101% sincere.

With some other candidates it is sometimes not so obvious. Perhaps unfairly, but there it is.

7. Yeah, I'm talking about people in their 50-80s, too.
It makes you do that thing dogs do in cartoons, where they turn their head around about four times in the same direction.

Like "whhhaaaaatttt?"

Some of these people were passing around those hideous emails about Obama a few months ago. I had to tell them "you're helping Hillary!!" The same folks haven't liked John Edwards, even though he's great on the issues that should matter to them. It's the trial lawyer thing. They buy into all that anti trial lawyer nonsense the medical and big business sectors promote heavily.
