I just voted for Barack Obama ....
and now I'm going to watch the ticker-tape parade for the NY Giants. It's a good day. :-)

The poll workers were the same people who are always there (seniors from the neighbor) and they saw my Giants shirt, so we started talking about the Super Bowl. Then one man asked me, "Do you have a television?" I said, "Yeah." He said, "Can I come home with you? We can't have a TV here ... and we want to watch the parade!" The others said, "Can we come, too?"

I don't think they're the only pissed off poll workers in the NY/NJ area today. :-)

5. Hey, it's my friend who needs that hug
He bought a SB ticket at face value (he's a Pats season ticket holder), then bought a last minute plane ticket to PHX, only to see the Patriots (gulp) lose!

So much for his relaxing weekend get-away!

6. was it a tough vote to make?
Edited on Tue Feb-05-08 11:20 AM by flaminbats
it was for me! Hillary is a safe candidate, like Gore or Kerry who could narrowly win or lose. Obama is a risk, a candidate who will win or lose by a landslide.

Hillary and Obama should repeal all of the Bush tax cuts. but both of them would repeal those tax cuts only for people who make $250,000 or more. if any of those tax cuts remain in place, then none of our troops should remain in Iraq! That is one reason I voted for Obama. Even though I disagree with him on keeping any of Bush's tax cuts, I think his position on tax cuts is more in sync with his position on pulling the troops out of Iraq.

When whites vote in the Democratic primary, we need to realize Obama actually has fewer flaws than Hillary. We shouldn't allow our personal flaws, like racism or fear of what others think of us, effect how we vote in such an important election. I think my vote for Obama was a vote I will remember for a long time, a vote for Hillary would be one that I would forget in a few months!

I'm glad to be in the Obama camp, because it changes not only our government..but also every voter from the ground up! ;)

8. No. I was undecided between Obama and Edwards until the NH debate.
After the debate, I chose Edwards, but not because I didn't like Obama. I just connected with Edwards and the things he was saying. I'm disappointed that he didn't do better in the primaries, but I'm very comfortable - and happy - with my Obama vote. I feel like he'll be able to inspire people to not only get involved in our democracy, but to stay involved AFTER the election. :-)
