1. Gravel hasn't dropped out or suspended his campaign.
Please put him back on the Democrat 2008 section on the front page.

2. Some people want to close their eyes and hope/change for Gravel to not be around
Since Gravel is the only actual progressive left in the race. Says a lot about so called progressives.

3. Exactly. Talk about cultish behavior.
Fake DLC "progressives" co-opted the term progressive.

7. Sure, Gravel is a progressive
that's why he supports the same BS UnFairTax as Huckabee. Nothing says progressive to me like cutting taxes for the rich and increasing them for the poor.

17. His other positions are what matter to me.
Out of Iraq.
Single payer healthcare.
Impeachment.

These are the issues that should be coming out of the mouths of the front runners who are also supposed progressives and democrats.

4. Thanks DU admins for helping the corporations shut out DEMOCRATIC candidates.
Who needs the M$M and the DLC when you have DU selecting your candidates.

12. Funny.
It's delightful how dismissive you are when he singlehandedly filibustered the draft, and even though he didn't succeed, he still stood up for his beliefs, and it most likely cost him his senate seat. It's a shame someone who actually has the "courage of their convictions" that people talk about so much is being written off as an old loony.

13. He is running a vanity campaign.
He has no realistic shot at winning a single delegate, let alone a path to the nomination.

That's why he is ignored, and rightfully so.

21. Kick for Gravel -- and not surprised that Harvard Liberals on the blogosphere have dismissed him
Edited on Tue Feb-05-08 04:35 PM by Leopolds Ghost
I noted how NPR cited his performance in the first debate (where he said
everything I and many DUers claim to have stood for) as "an example of why
minor candidates should be excluded from televised debates." And that he
"was only good for amusement." This, from NPR's top commentator.

Did anyone defend him then on DU? No!

On Edit: I will vote for Gravel if my vote is not needed to stop
Hillary from becoming the nominee: His policy positions are closest to DU.

That leaves the only progressive left.
Mike Gravel.
I sure as hell ain't voting for Hillbama.

40. Dennis was in a long-time before Gravel. Gravel got in later.
If Gravel hadn't been in, it would have improved Dennis' chances.

I'm not saying don't back Gravel now, but be aware of the consequences of his presence in the race.
