Good omens
The sun was shining; it's a glorious day here in Sacramento.

The paper announced the Asylum Street Spankers are coming to town.

When I stepped out of my house there was a Lagunitas beer truck right out front.

My polling place was in a wonderful liberal institution: a supportive-housing complex for disabled people.

I have never felt so optimistic on an election day as I do on this, the day of my very first Democratic primary vote.

:patriot:

Don't even care who you voted for. Just glad you voted.

2. Great memory for your first vote.
Do I recall you saying this is your first vote for president?

5. No, my first vote for President was in 2000
I might have fucked off the 2002 midterms--I don't even remember. But I've voted in every election since then.

I voted in gubernatorial and local elections starting in 1998.

I've only voted for Democrats (and some local Greens), but this is my first primary as a registered Democrat. It's my first primary, period.

3. Thank you for voting!
I'm glad you had a wonderful experience. Doesn't matter who you voted for (well it does, but it's none of my business).

6. Eh
That's for other threads. Even if my candidate doesn't win, the good omens apply. America is in need of sunshine, microbrewed beer, good music, and affordable housing. I hope to enjoy more of all those things (well, maybe not sunshine, what with global warming... metaphorical sunshine, I guess) under the Democrat we elect in November.
