HELP! How Does Kerry Keep FREE MEDIA Attention up to Convention???

Barring some “Act of God” (DK winning Texas) that returns attention to the Presidential primaries, the Kerry campaign is stuck in a media black-hole for the next several months with no money to run national campaign ads. Right now it looks like Nader’s “spoiler” campaign is getting more free media than Kerry.

Keep it in mind that just keeping his campaign operation going and launching fundraisers is costly. It will be a while before Kerry builds up any significant war-chest to run Ads.

The question to all the brains at DU:
What things could Kerry or Kerry supporters do to get some free attention during this dry-spell between now and the convention?


Some Ideas:

1. Make a media road show of the V.P. vetting process by having each V.P. prospect do some big campaign events with Kerry in target states – media would have some interest in how the show goes as indicator of who will win the V.P. sweepstakes
2. Organize annual progressive events such as “Earth Day” (in April) so as to give multiple media opportunities for Kerry campaign.
3. Organize a million person “Take Back Our Country” march on Washington with big-draw bands and speakers with Kerry as headliner

Great ideas please!

They are "done with him".. He's the presumptive candidate, and now they will just sit back and trash him at will.. They will enjoy his faux pas, they will conjecture about his "facial lines", his hair, his clothes..you name it..

Bush is the 800 lb gorilla, and his folks control the media agenda.. Our people in congress gave them the right to do it, and they are now forced to do the rightwing's bidding if they expect to keep their jobs.

Last week I watched an interview on Wolfie's show, and WHILE the interview was still going on, Wolfie was HANDED a dislaimer that had to have come directly from the White house.. He stopped the interview, read the "note" which was complete bullshit, but refuted what his invited guest was saying..

The repubes are watching like hawks and will never let Kerry get any positive traction in the media..

Our anger and disgust..and overwhelming numbers (hopefully) will have to be enoough.. The media will never "embrace" Kerry or ANY democratic candidate..

Remember 2000??? They "loved" our candidate then, didn't they??:eyes:
