MA strangeness at 2 polling locations....Hmmm
Sniffa and I vote at 2 different locations, b/c the DMV f'd up his registration change when he got his license renewed. So I mentioned to him before he voted tonight that I heard there was a Green/Rainbow ballot in MA, but there were none at my polling place. He thought maybe it was just that they didn't print any or something.

BUT, at his place, there were Dem, Repuke, Green/Rainbow, and Worker's Party ballots. Not that we cared personally, b/c we voted Dem, but very odd, no?

1. Yes, if the Green/Rainbow is in one location, why not another? I've never worked polls
and can't help you out.

But hope the two of you were able to make a decision that was not anathema to you both.

2. Yes, they should have the same ballots at all locations, statewide.
We vote in the same city, fer chrissakes! :wtf:

Yes, we voted happily, for the most part. Thanks :)

6. Could the ballots have been different based on local races?
If you are voting in different districts (state leg or CD), you may get a different ballot.

Do you have party registration in MA? If so, the number of ballots on hand may be based on the the number of voters regstered in that party.

Just guessing, of course! :D

8. Same district, polling locations a couple miles apart...
Different wards. We have Dem, Repuke, and Undeclared (Indy in MA). Which still doesn't explain it, as afar as I can see.

I still don't get it.

4. You'd be surprised how much chaos is involved in organizing those elections...
after being involved in a few, I'm honestly surprised things aren't much, much worse.

Our electoral system is batshit insane.

5. But is it that hard to have the same ballots available
at different locations a few miles apart? :wtf:

Weirdness...

7. Nope!

But is it easy for some poorly-trained poll worker to forget to bring them? Or to put them out? Or for some coordinator to forget to inform the workers that there are revised ballots, or whatever other possible problems there might be? Oh yes, yes indeed.

It's awful.

9. True dat....
Sniffa said the elderly women at his location were bordering on senile. :P

At mine, the lady with the Repuke ballots was sad that nobody wanted her ballots. :D

13. Yeah, at his place, the woman asked the lady in front of him
"Who did you vote for?" Instead of "Which party's ballot did you choose?" :o

At my place, I asked for the Dem ballot, and the Republican ballot lady sighed loudly and said "I guess my role is done today"

16. Hah... yeah, there's always some very unprofessional behavior...
I'm no longer shocked by any of it.

As for the sighing... what a sore loser! I take all the repuke's nasty comments (shit like "Not many people over there? You think that's maybe a clue?" :eyes:) with a smile. I wouldn't give 'em the satisfaction.

11. Bi-Baby, you should post this over in Election Reform. They have people signed up for every state to
kind of gather data and who are more or less on top of things in each state. Someone can provide or get an answer for you, and regardless, this needs to be documented.
