Who thinks that the Democratic platform has already been decided?
I think that my fellow Dean (and Kucinich) supporters are deluding ourselves if we think that either one of them will have any significant impact on the party platform at the convention. I think that the DLC has already decided on the party platform, and have been steering things to promote that platform ever since. I see our platform as being a repeat of the miserable strategy of 2002.

2. I think you're deluding yourself if you think
the DNC platform is a politically significant document.

3. Some specifics might be up for grabs.
But the general platform--I think you're right. It has been decided.

4. I think it's not as important as some people here are making it,
and it's something that will get stuck in a file cabinet after it is written. Yes, it's probably rough drafted already.

5. So who thinks that bush has already won the election?
I think that my fellow Democrats (and whomever else will be voting against this foul administration) are deluding themselves if they think that any party will have any chance of beating bush in November. I think that the RNC has already written up their press releases for the whore media to regurgitate to the ever-fickle swing voters, and have been steering democrats to play into their hands in the late summer/fall. I see our party as set for a repeat of the miserable strategy of 2002.

Is that helpful?

7. You can console yourself in the belief
that you will be able to "hold their feet to the fire". To expect otherwise would brand you as a "purist" by some.:eyes:

9. Yeah, Hell forbid anyone would expect the Demoncratic party to have a
Demoncratic platform. Vote for progressive delegates, those of you who still have a primary!

All that matters is ousting Bush. So long as they can keep your expectations to that alone, nothing else matters. Now get with the program, citizen!

13. LOL - and to think I was under the impression that it was the Repubs
who were the ones interested in actively disenfranchising people from the process.

I guess you learn something new every day!

15. It will be written by the Kerry campaign
and will be ratified by the delegates, as a majority of them will be Kerry supporters.

18. Which illustrates exactly why those who still have a primary vote..
...must use it to send progressive delegates to the convention. DLC/PNAC/PPI must not be allowed to write this platform.

For pointing out the obvious. :)

Now, are you doing it door to door in your precinct ? (Assuming your state hasn't already voted.)
