Can Hillary Win Independent Voters?

Please explain, given these data. These are from the CNN exit polls of states identified as allowing independent voters to participate in their Democratic primaries.

Given these data, please argue for me why Clinton would be able to attract independent voters over McCain (who is also winning support of Independents in the Republican primaries). Please do not ignore these data in your explanations.

Not the New York senate election. I thought that would be evident given the elections we're having, but I guess not.

These data show that Independents across the country do not favor her.
