USA Today/CNN/Gallup national poll just released: Kerry 52%, Bush 44%!
Edited on Mon Mar-08-04 04:20 PM by flpoljunkie
This is the first poll USA Today/CNN/Gallup has done since Kerry became the presumptive nominee--and it is from LIKELY VOTERS! I like the way the race is shaping up!

53. agreed
what I was really hoping for was a Sox world series win in October, then a Dean win in September. I may have passed out with excitement.

Unfortunately, I will now have to hold my nose in supporting Kerry.

You have to add in at least a few points to counter the pro-Republican bias Gallup starts with.

4. link? nader?
did nader show up in the poll at all?

we need Kerry to keep coming out on top ... bush has been in a strong position for far too long and too many people have believed he is unbeatable ...

if the polls stay like this for awhile, even if they are more-or-less meaningless right now, bush's aura of invincibility will be destroyed forever ...

7. Nader is not included in the poll
http://www.usatoday.com/news/politicselections/nation/polls/usatodaypolls.htm

But Nader was in a later question

Kerry 50
Bush 44
Nader 2

Nader basically taking 2% directly from Kerry, so long as it holds there, we should be fine.

11. When they added Nader to the poll, results changed to
Kerry 50%, Bush 44%, Nader 2%. He draws votes strictly from Kerry and benefits Bush.

Once again the arrogant SOB could very well be the difference in winning and losing.

36. yes, I agree--Once Nader has milked the media for all the attention...
....he can get (and I mean that in a good way, believe me), he will quit the race, saying that Bush is too dangerous to be given a chance to win. In essence, his entire campaign will be a bully pulpit to attack Bush and increase the visibility of progressive ideas and third party candidates. THis election will be Ralph's legacy to America.

He lead in the polls against the other candidates. There is no head-to-head matchup poll of Dean :vs: Bush that ever showed Dean winning.

43. No, he didn't.
There were only three who EVER, at any point in time, led Bush in the polls:

General Clark (a few polls)
Senator Kerry (a few polls)
Senator Edwards (one poll only)

Dean never, ever beat Bush in national polls. Not once.

20. Geez, AP or some other Bushevik organization is gonna have to
release another phony poll showing the Fraud tied up with Kerry in order to "write the backstory" for the upcomming Stalionist Theft of the 2004 "election".

Wait for it. Another couple polls coming out showing Kerry (again with an 8-10% point lead) and you'll see the Bushevik counterstrike, perhaps from the Moonie Times, this time.

(the purveyors of Pravda know not to use the same corrupted polling organization back-to-back, so it likely WON'T be AP)

Maybe because the Dems are,n't letting ANYTHING pass without piling on. Finally!

Evertime KKKKarl makes a move to boost the ratings we are all over it. So much so that even the media HAS to report it.

We must keep the heat on until the minute the polls close.

All we have to do is keep this up for eight more months, heh.

I'm happy to hear this, but the national campaign hasn't really started yet. We've still got to face down millions of dollars of smear and God knows what else they will pull to distract people.

Then there's voting day and Diebold and paperless voting! YaY!

I hate to be a wet blanket, but this isn't going to be easy, guys.

46. I think Kerry & his team are doing a terrific job
so far! They have a terrific rapid response going, & Kerry is out there pounding Bush everyday.

But I don't trust Bush & his evil organization. We still have a long way to go, & things will get tougher, & probably really nasty.

But I am very impressed by Kerry's aggressiveness. He seems really ready for the fight.

I hope he pounds Bush on security. No way Bush should control that issue!

47. A great point, Leilani. I want to scream that Bush outpolls Kerry on this
Using the tragedy of 9/11 as a springboard to go to an unnecessary war in Iraq is a sign of a failed foreign policy and a failed presidency.

The Democrats need to make this case over and over until it gets through the media smokescreen. The media has not done their job; we Democrats will.

"Another sign of trouble for Bush: Men, usually a Republican strength, split 47% for Kerry, 46% for Bush. Kerry has his party's typical lead with women, 53%-43%."

Maybe some of those Reagan Democrats have come back home.

If we can split the men vote the game is over.
