Bush: Obama, Clinton Threaten "Prosperity And Peace"
President Bush, rallying conservatives for a battle against Democratic presidential hopefuls Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama, says "prosperity and peace" are at stake in the upcoming election for his successor.

"We have had good debates and soon we will have a nominee who will carry the conservative banner into this election and beyond," Bush said in prepared remarks of a speech he was to give Friday to the Conservative Political Action Conference.

"Prosperity and peace are in the balance," the president said in speech excerpts the White House released on Thursday night. "So with confidence in our vision and faith in our values, let us go forward ... fight for victory ... and keep the White House in 2008."

Bush is not expected to mention by name John McCain, who almost surely will be the GOP's presidential nominee. Conservatives are resigned to seeing McCain lead the Republican ticket, but the Arizona senator has a long history of disputes over economic and social issues with the party's right flank.

4. Prosperity and Peace?
Edited on Fri Feb-08-08 07:36 AM by BuffyTheFundieSlayer

He's fricking delusional. What prosperity and peace have we had for the past seven years? (As compared to, say, the Bill Clinton years)

5. The expression is "peace and prosperity."
Maybe he's changing the order because he cares more about "prosperity" than about "peace."

In practice, he's destroyed both.

7. So this is how they are going to frame the Democrats? As terrorist?
Romney signaled this effort in his cons session speech...

"If I fight on in my campaign, all the way to the convention, I would forestall the launch of a national campaign and make it more likely that Senator Clinton or Obama would win. And in this time of war, I simply cannot let my campaign, be a part of aiding a surrender to terror," Romney told the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington.

Both Clinton and Obama need to hit back at these thugs and hit back hard. Who let the terrorist attack in 2001? Republicon controlled congress and white house. That's who.

FUCK YOU GEORGE W. BU$H and MITT ROMNEY

14. XACTLY. I said Economy and Nat'l Security and not the war will be how they get us.
Watch. The war won't be the biggest issue because...most amerikuns favored the war in the beginning. They don't feel it is making us safer BUT they fear Iraq becoming friends with IRAN.

9. Bush was having his usual problems with English
Even he knows full well that prosperity and peace are two
things completely foreign to him and his administration.

What he meant to say was that "posterity and Greece" were
at stake, because when someone remarked that his "heart
was gone," he thought they had said "Parthenon."

Bush doesn't have a problem that a good hearing aid wouldn't cure.

10. PEACE? PEACE?
We've been at fucking war for the majority of the past 7 years. We might have had peace BEFORE Bush went into the White House back in '01 and pissed in Bill's saxophone thinking it was his golden urinal, but not AFTER Bush. AFTER Bush all we have are the tattered remains of what used to be our country.

Peace? What peace? Fuck that sombitch.

11. I can't believe my eyes...this from a guy who took the country
into a war and aided in bankrupting it at the same time!

The delusion this man must be suffering from is incredible. Perhaps if he spent some time at Dover AFB seeing the flag draped coffins come in, or went to the local store to buy a half gallon of milk, he would be astounded, as was his father, at how the rest of us have to live.

I guess that when one plays king, one need not see the people of the Realm, one need only the use their bodies to muffle the coach wheels upon the cobblestones.

12. "Prosperity and peace are in the balance"

Well, indeed he is right. If McPain wins we can wave goodbye to peace and prosperity for "at least a hundred years".

13. The headline for this on HuffPost was right beside a headline saying
"Retailers have worst January in almost four decades". I wonder if that's the prosperity he's talking about. And the peace part? Well, there just aren't words.

Another new use of fear tactics to cover up the right's lack of good policy.
