The majority of the 47 delegates left to determine from this past Tuesday are Colorado's 27.

2. They are being recounted from scratch

Every ballot. They don't know how long it will be.

http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=18785663

It will be awhile before the last of the Super Tuesday states declares a winner. New Mexico Democratic Party officials announced Thursday that they will recount every ballot. Hillary Clinton leads Barack Obama in the state by about 1,000 votes.

Originally, New Mexico's Democratic Party had planned to count 17,000 provisional ballots, largely ballots cast by voters whose eligibility was in question or who came to the wrong polling place.

But the Democrat-only contest was plagued by so many problems that the state party, along with the Clinton and Obama campaigns, agreed that only checking all ballots cast would insure an accurate result.

New Mexico apportions its delegates, so Obama and Clinton will each end up with a share of the 26 delegates at stake. And with the national race so close, each delegate counts.

There is no prediction of when the recount will be completed.

4. provisional ballots
due to the closeness of the results, it appears that they are now counting provisional ballots and have been delayed due to misplaced records from a couple of congressional districts.

http://www.allheadlinenews.com/articles/7009963490

at the moment, it shakes out thusly:

(99% reporting)

clinton 68,654
obama 67,531

5. I've been following from the Albuquerque JOURNAL's website:
http://www.abqjournal.com/

All precincts are in. HClinton leads by a very thin margin, with c. 17,000 provisional ballots to be counted.

No result expected for "some days."

9. Provisisoal Ballots MAY favor Obama
I talked with a former worker for the DNC last night. He stated the bulk of the provisional ballots are from districts carried by Obama. That would favor Obama. however, most of these ballots would have been cast long in advance of the surge of support for Senator Obama in the final weeks before Super Tuesday, negating Obama's rise in the final results much like early voting helped Senator Clinton deflect the last minute rise in support by Senator Obama in California.

11. Hi, mikekohr. Thanks for the info. I had no idea at all where the
provisionals were from across the state.
