Who is Bayh?
Here is Bayh's Record and who he is. I am not endorsing him. I personally think Gov. Mark Warner is a better Democrat. But Bayh would win Kerry the election:

"Mr. Bayh's record," reported The Wall Street Journal in 1992, "is one of a genuinely fiscally conservative Democrat." Stressing fiscal responsibility, lower taxes, job creation and lean government, then-Governor Bayh's list of achievements are remarkable: eight years without raising taxes; the greatest single tax cut; the largest budget surplus in state history; national leadership in moving people from welfare to work; more dollars for schools every year; high academic standards and new college opportunities; over 375,000 new jobs; tougher laws; and improved environmental quality."

Bayh will get us Moderate and Conservative Votes. It is the economy stupid.

Who cares who is the VP? I want Bush out. I don't even want Kerry to be President. So I am losing twice. But it is worth it all if Bush is Fired.

1. Stop pushing Bayh down our throats. PLEASE!
Bayh sucks. He's boring. He's out of the public eye. He's conservative. Please! We can do much better than Bayh!

(Do you know something we don't know? Because if you do, and Kerry picks this loser, I am seriously going to consider sitting out the election.)

5. Bayh is a brainless pretty boy living off his daddy's record ...
... kinda like what we have at 1600 at the moment.

He also reminds me eerily of another esteemed Hoosier, DAN QUAYLE.

:puke:

RUN, as fast and as far as you can, from any NOTION of Bayh as VEEP.

:hippie: <-- stuck in Indiana, oh yeah.

6. Ask the board if they had second thoughts about voting for Gore

in 2000 because of Lieberman, who has many of those exact same characteristics and stances as Bayh.

I think you'll be surprised by how many people here almost decided to stay out of the election because of Lieberman's conservative stances.

Same thing goes for Bayh.

A centrist candidate, well, ok. But Bayh and Lieberman are not centrists, they're to the right of center.

13. Holy Joe certainly wasn't my first choice.
But look how that whole mess turned out. And Joe didn't even fight it at all. Obviously, he didn't care if the Bush Criminal Empire won. Bayh doesn't either, that's why he's the current chair of the "Democratic" Losership ClusterF**k.

8. He wouldn't even carry IN for Kerry
And he'd be just as divisive to the party as Lieberman was in 2000.

Forget Bayh -- he's a DINO.

A Republican in a Democrat suit!
During the past couple of years, almost every time some issue arose regarding Bush's policies, Bayh was right there on TV, defending the Republican position. Why would the Dems think he would help their ticket? We might was well ask Zell Miller to run with Kerry. Bayh is a disgrace to the Democratic Party.

9. Bayh brings no value in terms of electoral votes. Nonstarter discussion.
Brings Indiana? Nope. Not as popular as Bush who has been here 3 times to fundraise and prop up his "My Man Mitch" for gov.

Indiana as influencer on neighboring state? Nope. Indiana has never aligned itself with rustbelt states and voting patterns (Ohio, Mich, and Illinois), nor with Agricultural interests in the broader midwest, nor with border state issues (Kentucky). Those states don't influence Indiana, nor do we influence them.

Besides Bayh would be a difficult running mate for Kerry on the war. Bayh was one of three who went to the Rose Garden to support bush ... a move that made all ongoing, bipartisan efforts to write amendments to the IWR which would place some restrictions/qualifications on actions. This is more serious than voting for the IWR.

More recently, after Kay returned and announced that not only were no WMDs, but that also it was highly unlikely there have been WMDs produced in Iraq since UN weapons inspections ended in 1998, Bayh - on television - states that he believes WMDs are still there and will be found.

11. Mark Warner is a great choice, but
I want to vote him in as Senator replacing George Allen.

George Allen has the potential for higher office so the sooner he gets out of politics the better. There are some who dislike Mark Warner for the strong actions he took to get Virginia back on the fiscal responsibility track, but I think he is one of the few people active in Virginia politics who has a chance to get rid of Allen.

Mark Warner is a man of strong character. The state assembly voted raises for themselves and for him and he refused his raise because of the state's financial difficulties.

14. who is Bayh?
A somewhat more intelligent, Democratic version of Dan Quayle. Or as another poster said in another thread, Joe Lieberman lite.
