Question: Do you think that is one cannot support the nominee that one ought to leave the Democratic

Party? What if one believes in the platform and precepts of the Party but finds they cannot support the nominee? As long as they do not support another party's nominee, should they leave? This is a question I think many may be struggling with this election cycle.I am inclined to believe they should stay but would not fault those who cannot. Just wondering what folks think.

1. I don't think there is a "should" to it. The choice is up to the individual based on a lot of
individual factors.

4. We changed from using party ballots to "Australian" ballots in this country.
Edited on Sat Feb-09-08 01:22 AM by Blue_State_Elitist
It allows for people to split their votes across the ballot instead of only doing straight ticket voting.

Nobody should leave their party because they cannot support one of its candidates.

7. If I Couldn't, I Would
Why would anyone stay with a party they don't support? I suppose LIEberman might be able to answer that question.

11. Absolutely they should leave the party
They can come back in four years if they've changed their mind but supporting the party's nominee is pretty much how you identify yourself as a Democrat since party affiliation is so loose in this country.

12. Disagree. We are not a party of personality. We are a party of principles.
I will vote for those principles. If the person at the head of the ticket does not reflect those principles, she will not get my vote - it can always be left blank. Down ticket, I'll vote for the best, most progressive democrats I can find.
