Is There Media Bias Against Hillary Clinton?

1. Nope. There is bias towards her, though. Remember how all assumed she'd win, from day 1?
How she gets her name mentioned on TV, on every channel, every...single....day....since becoming a candidate (it started before then, actually).

It's amazing she's not slam-dunk winning, with all the press she's gotten.

3. Respectfully, That Doesn't Make Sense...
If I said the Boston Celtics have the best chance to win the NBA Finals that doesn't mean I like the Boston Celtics...

9. Your analogy doesn't make sense in that we can't "vote" the Celtics to the Championship.
The point being made is that politics is all about power, incumbency, and momentum. It has been clearly depicted for years that Clinton had all three. We were made aware that as far back as the primaries of 2004 she "outpolled" all of the candidates we had at that time. She became the "conventional wisdom" and it has all but sewn up the nomination for her. The challenge she is getting from Obama is improbable. Do you really think anyone of the "inner circles" thought Clinton would ever receive this kind of challenge.

I will agree that the press has an ambivalent relationship with the Clinton's - praise and ridicule at the same time. Respect and disgust. Admiration and fear.

10. My Analogy Does Make Sense
They were making an empirical observation...Hillary's high national polling, money advantage, and brand name made her the presumptive front runner...

The combination of Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, and Paul Pierce make them prohibitive favorites to win the NBA title...

You can easily summarize the coverage of this year's presdidential election... The press loved Obama, hated Clinton, and ignored John Edwards...

but yes, there is media bias against her. There's also media bias for her. It's not as simple as you make it out to be.

21. When I think about bias....
I think about how after most of the debates last year, cnn would have the same panel raving on and on about Hillary. Completely ignoring the other million candidates. Carvell would just sing her praises. Of course now we know that he has been working with the Hillary campaign. Funny how he was political analysis for CNN for the last year.

A provocative report from a reporter at the Globe & Mail in Toronto, of all places:

James Carville gave an entertaining talk last night at the Grano Speakers Series in Toronto, even if he was careful not to say a whole lot about the presidential race that we couldn't have figured out on our own... he may have forgotten a fairly obvious rule: Don't leave your personal itinerary sitting in full public view in a room full of journalists.

Now, maybe there's some other explanation for it. But personally, if I'd been vigorously denying a role in Hillary Clinton's campaign (beyond financial contributions), I'd probably be especially protective of that itinerary if its front page referred to participating in an "HRC strategy call."

Carville didn't immediately return a call seeking comment.

23. Respectfully, Carville Is A Poor Example
Everybody knows he worked for the Clintons and has great affection for both of them...He almost always prefaces his remarks with that disclaimer...So when he says anything it's seen through that prism... The danger is that the lion's share of the media hate the Clintons but they are seen through the prism of neutrality...

Nobody expects the Roves, the Axelrods, the Carvilles, of the world to be unbiased...

They never once identified him as being a clinton advisor.

6. Does a bear shit in the woods? Too bad Hillary isn't black like Obama.
She would be untouchable like him if that were the case.

This election has been disgusting to me as a black woman. Looks like being black is now okay, but being a woman is still to be subhuman.

24. Too bad Hillary
doesn't have a penis - like I've said all my life - doesn't matter what color IT is just as long as you have one

somewhere on some analysis the other night "they" were discussing why the M$M is saying that since Hillary won CA she most likely will win the nomination - that the M$M has always concluded that but they aren't for Hillary - then "someone" said its almost like the M$M has reverse racism in favor of Obama - they are so fucking sexist - they can't even imagine that it is not reverse racism in Obama's favor its flat out friggin SEXISM.

I was a Kucinich supporter who moved to Edwards - I like/dislike Clinton and Obama about equally - I will give Clinton the edge on experience and I actually think it is quite ARROGANT for Barack Obama to run for President with only 3 years as a Senator and less than that when he decided to run - but there really isn't a nickels worth of difference between them and SO

I am going to take my right to be SEXIST and support Hillary - because she is a woman - and I believe this most likely is the last chance in my lifetime to see a woman become President - at least one that I agree with more than I don't...in other words a Dem woman vs. a repunk....

7. DSB I have thought about your question before
And I was thinking there is bias toward Hillary but then when Obama gets momentum the MSM tones down the bias toward Hillary so that she can gain a little momentum to stay even with him. I have heard folks say on CNN they are loving this race and hope it extends for several months.
