Another Brokered Convention question (sorry) |
|
The race stays deadlocked with neither getting the delegates needed.
The Party decides to put John Doe in the Prez nominee spot.
Could either of the current candidates be chosen for the VP spot - or would they have to find somebody "new"?
I'm REALLY trying to understand this -- thanks!

The nominee gets to pick his/her VP.
But I really hope it doesn't end up being a brokered convention. Interesting from a political junkie's standpoint but probably not so good for the party.
Hopefully there will be a clean decision without having to return to 'smoke filled rooms'.

2. Thanks. Although I don't really understand this well, I've heard - like you say - |
|
that it wouldn't be good for the party.
I watched a Meet the Press clip today and one of the guests (looked like a Republican) said he didn't think Dean had the weight to "come to a compromise" as he's been saying he wants. So that got me thinking, what if it neither of them is willing to budge, and we DO get to that point?
Thanks again! :hi:
