I'll say it again: if Hillary cannot break 40% in any contest on Tuesday, she NEEDS to step aside.

The democratic electorate is rejecting her candidacy, and forcing Obama to fight her until the very last end will be counterproductive.

1. No, she doesn't. Everyone has strong states and weak states.

She barely lost Missouri, and she did decently in Connecticut.
Maybe 20 of them after Tuesday.

2. She will after TX and OH (maybe PA) if she doesn't get 40% Why wouldn't she?
Edited on Sun Feb-10-08 09:19 PM by joshcryer
Obama would have run away with it to the point that MI and FL won't matter and basically Hillary is mathematically done.

Sorry, I misread your topic so this isn't exactly what you said. I'm really out of it tonight. She won't drop out until she loses TX and OH and PA.

she's about tied now in delegates and another month or even 2 won't matter.

I'm hoping she stays in until Montana puts Obama over the top on June 3rd and we get to elect the next President.

in Ohio, Texas, or PA.

24. Do you really think you're going to fool anyone for long with Freeperish innuendo like that?
I can't believe that nearly half the people on this forum still blindly support and defend this destructive and selfish woman

Those words are the same exact words that assholes like Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity spew. Enjoy your feeble Right Wing remarks while you can, though!

She's in it till March 4 at the latest. This thread might make sense after then, but not now. Give it a rest.

14. There have sure been a lot of calls for Hillary to drop out.
What about letting the People vote?

Obama followers don't seem to have much taste for Democracy except when the superdelegate issue is raised.

20. If she cracks 40% on Tuesday, she needs to be at about 60% after
That's a big, big hurdle. If she does worse than 40% on Tuesday, she needs to exceed 60% thereafter --an even bigger hurdle.

She doesn't just need to win TX OH and PA, she needs to crush in them.

However, the only big state she came close to 60% was NY.

31. People always crack me up
I'm obviously a new Obama supporter, but Nobody should ever "misunderestimate" the power and tactics of the "Clinton machine" She won't be out of it until she decides to end it. She can still manipulate all of the superdelegates, as well as WI, OH, TX, PA delegates in her column. If she's only slightly behind, she'll successfully have the FL and MI delegates seated. Couple this with the upcoming Edwards endorsement, and the table could turn very, very quickly. Obama hasn't won jack.

25. She's going to have to do it to salvage her legacy...
...and her relationship with the African American community. At this point having two candidates is creating problems for the Dems, which is obvious by reading the posts on this message board.

30. I prefer Obama to Clinton, but I'm glad to see Obama backers resisting the "She should drop out" BS
The polls say she'll do poorly in three primaries this Tuesday. So what? She and Obama will still be approximately tied in delegates, so there's no basis for saying that either of them should drop out.

28. You know...I'm tired of this step aside stuff.
I don't like HRC, but jeez, lets let the voters actually get a chance to decide who they want, even though there are only 2 or 3 candidates left.

Lets hear them all out.

29. I have big problems with Clinton, but I DON'T KNOW Obama!
I'd like to get to know Obama a little bit better before I trust him with the fate of the planet. So I hope Clinton stays in the race.

Suppose Hillary drops out next week, and next month we find out some disqualifying or embarrasing fact about his Chicago past from Obama, or he displays some flaw in character. Or there's a Karl Rove clone in McCain's campaign setting up some skullduggery.

More debates, more research, more sharpening of positions.

And my state doesn't vote until April.
