Some Info about a group voting for Obama yesterday in Nebraska..
I talked to my nephew tonight (he's 25). He's a leader with Campus Crusade for Christ, and their whole group is predictably pushing for Huckabee.

He said that they all (28 of them) caucuses for Obama yesterday. They don't think Huckabee will be viable by the time the Nebraska Republican Primary rolls around in May.

None of these guys can stand McCain. They also hate Hillary. They voted for Obama, because they're hoping he will win the primary. They will vote for Obama if he is up against in McCain in November. They will vote for Huckabee if he's on the ticket.

Anyway - just thought i'd give you an update. Huckabee makes me vomit.. but just showing the appeal Obama is pulling from all over.

2. Oh Yeah.. this kid is the most honest, straight laced guy you'd ever meet.
I would like a few links about Huckabee.. and how he's a bigger snake that most republicans, and his whole "bible" montage is a complete farce, but I thought it might be best to see if it's even neccessary.

But, if anyone has any links.. i'm happy to book mark 'em. :)

and obama pulls in more conservatives -- from the ''street'' but probably not all{some will be more influential than mom and pop} -- what exactly happens to the democratic party now being occupied by more conservative think than is currently present?

...and it speaks to a possible landslide the Dems could have in November.

When I went to an Obama "party" in Iowa, I was really shocked to find Republicans, Independents,
Centrist Dems and Progressives all at the same party.

We sat and talked about politics for two hours, about how George Bush had messed up this country
to the point where we were all terrified for our children and for their futures. These people
were intelligent, thoughtful and very aware of what George Bush was doing. They knew what
Habeas Corpus was, and they understood about Bush going around the FISA courts and wiretapping
illegally.

We commiserated--almost like a support group. It's nice to talk online about politics, but
there was nothing like sitting in a room full of Dems, Reps, and Indies--all agreeing on
how awful Bush was and all coalescing around one candidate. People say that Obama supporters
are starstruck by Obama. I'm starstruck by his supporters and how politically diverse and
gracious they are.

I left that "party" knowing that no candidate I had ever seen-- was able to galvanize people
of so many political stripes, as well as Obama. I knew that if Obama could take that
appeal and extrapolate it onto a national stage--that no one could beat us in November.

7. Thanks for the great note..
I agree, Obama is a once in a generation politician who is uniting people who never thought they'd be united.

Many people are looking beyond the fact that they dislike some of his stances on the issues, and are trusting him overall to take the party in a new direction.

I applaud him for this.

6. I am seeing this here as well. I disagree that Obama is pulling the party right
I believe he is pulling their constituents left.

Once the reality of the downticket sinks in -- people will understand that when (R) seats once thought "until death do us part" are gone to unknown rookie Dems.

We have such a contest here. (R) Representative that has been in the seat since dirt was invented -- challenger is an unknown Edwards Democrat.

Obama can deliver this seat to that man. Hillary would not be able to.

GOBAMA!!!!
