Too much energy being wasted

Why are we wasting so much energy arguing the pros and cons of two excellent Democrat candidates and not focusing on John McCain (or God forbid Mike Huckabee). It seems that for every negative statement made against Clinton or Obama either on DU or in general conversation it plays into the hands of the Republicans.

Seeing it from my point of view, the Democrats have the choice of two excellent candidates. The Republicans are scraping the bottom of the barrel.

I admit I prefer Hillary, (after Edwards dropped out) but I wouldn't lose any sleep if Obama got up. The main objective is to get rid of the Republicans along with Bush.
